Personal Narrative: Running Away
I sat in the front seat as the officer drove down broadway to Santa Maria high school to pick up Roberto. My hart was pounding as we pulled up into the schools parking lot, after about ten minutes passed I felt like I was about to puke but held back. Then suddenly I saw border patrol with my brother, when I looked at him he was resisting and trying to run away. Once the border patrol settled him down he put them in the car and they where on a strait away to Mexico. While we where in the car on the highway I was tearing up and thinking about how much I was missing my family when I looked at Roberto I noticed he was fidgeting with something in his hands, as I looked closer I noticed that he had a paper clip in his hands and that he was trying …show more content…

The man said "not bad guys" Roberto and I where very happy and couldn't wait to come back tomorrow. After that the man tolled us to get in the car and he would take us back to the town. Once he paid us and we got out of the truck the man said "want to come back tomorrow"? Roberto quickly answered "yes, same time same place", the man laughed and said to be safe and take care. When I got in the car she told me we were going to stop at the Walmart near the hotel to get something to go with the food we had saved from breakfast. When we pulled into the parking lot a police car began following us. My mom parked the car and we got out and began walking to enter the store. The policeman jumped out of his car and started yelling at us to come back, it was at that moment when I felt it: something bad is about to happen. The police officer said that the rental car my mom had been driving was reported stolen because my mom's credit card had been declined. Then another police car pulled up and two officers got out and told my mom to put her hands on the hood of the car. Then a k9 unit pulled up and anther police officer and a dog got out. At that point, the first officer handcuffed my mom and put her in the back of the police car. Now all of the police officers were huddled talking meanwhile I stood there horrified. The police officer that arrested my mom came over opened the back door and told me to get in. he then slammed the door and walked back to the group of…

Most teenagers do not have a clue about what they want to be when they grow up. Most young adults also do not know where their path is in life. Even some full-blown adults are still trying to figure out their purpose. I was lucky. I knew exactly where I belonged from about the time I was seven up until now, at the decently young age of nineteen. I do not see my path changing anytime soon; in fact, I know it will never change. But, I did not just wake up one day as a child and know what my path was, while that would be impressive. Defining moments in one’s life defines who they are. There were lots of things I experienced in my life that made me realize my purpose, my absolute passion. I had four of these defining moments in my short span of…

There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

Then sometime had elapse but it hadn’t past more than two hours. When suddenly, we noticed that there was a lot of border patrols passing by. One by one they passed through not stopping until they got to where they were going. The group of women had already left to the next stop we didn’t know where exactly was that other stop, so we went outside to go check what was going on but mainly to check if they hadn’t been caught. My heart shatter into pieces when as the moment we stepped out we saw the three women being taken by the border patrol. They had them sitting down on the floor with hands behind their back.
