Personal Narrative: My Visit To Longhorn
About two weeks ago on two different days 11/28 and 11/30, I decided to visit the LongHorn restaurant at the Toco Hills location, since LongHorn happens to be one of mine and my families favorite restaurants. I figured that I would go there while on lunch. On the 28th, I placed my order at 7:05pm online, to have it picked up at 7:40pm, and I also paid and tipped online (I will never either again). I wanted to give them more than enough time to have my order ready and I did not want to waste my entire lunch waiting for my order. When I arrived at the restaurant a little after 8pm, my order was not ready. There was someone working to go and the bartender seemed to be pretty busy, I gave them my name and was told that it would be ready shortly. …show more content…
I placed my order at 6:01pm and I set the pickup time for 6:40pm, well because I was riding with someone on lunch this time I wanted to place the order well ahead of time so that when I arrive to retrieve my order, it would be ready. Well, again I was tricked. I arrived around 7:05pm only to find out that my order wasn’t ready. So, my co-worker and I went across the street to pick up someone else’s food. We returned about 10 minutes later only to find out that my food still wasn’t ready. Another customer that ordered online as well, (per her printed out confirmation, she placed her order at 6:40pm) but didn’t pay online like I did, her order was ready. Again, my salmon dish with several sides still wasn’t ready. I asked to speak with a manager. When the manager came out I was able to tell her my concerns and she proceeded to the kitchen to grab my order. She returned about 5 minutes later with my order. This time unlike the time before, I checked my order. Once again, my salmon was burnt at the bottom and was dry. The manager offered to remake my order. When I was in a rush to return to work from lunch, I honestly didn’t have much time to wait, but I decided to wait anyway. The manager went to the kitchen and returned with a better and fresher looking salmon, so I thought. When I returned to work to eat my lunch, I realized that my salmon was raw in

Overview: Southern Steakhouse’s west Hamilton location belongs to an established casual dining franchise with locality in Canada and the United Sates. The restaurant was suffering from declining sales figures. Corporate responded by replacing the management team who in turn appointed replacement team members and initiated a new incentive system. An internal conflict arose between two employees, Michelle Rhodes, a server, and Barbara Taber, a bartender. This conflict has resulted in a glass of milk being served to a customer with a lemon wedge in it. Resolution must be achieved as this situation has affected customer satisfaction and has provoked sub-optimal service.…

Before I began preparing the child’s lunch I ensured that I followed the placement policy which state that before meals “”all tables used during mealtimes were cleaned before the children could be seated”. I also made sure that my own hands were washed and then I cleaned the children’s hands with wet wipes. Before sitting the children down a member of staff made me aware of the child’s dietary requirement and that he wasn’t allowed beef.…

I live in DeMotte with my Mom and Step-Dad. My real father lives in Ohio. I only get to see my actual dad three times a year. I see him in fall, spring, and summer. Obviously, I saw him this summer, and this time I was staying with him for a week. This was the first time I stayed this long at his house before. Although he lives in Ohio, and is only two hours away from Sandusky, he’d never experienced Cedar Point either. We didn’t explore the roller-coaster portion of Cedar Point, we went to the smaller segment called Cedar Pointe Shores. That’s just the highlight of the trip, though.…

So, after that a coworker and I decided we wanted supreme and the others wanted chicken pizza. My understanding was that her and I was going half and half on the supreme pizza because when we made the order we both were telling our coworker what we did and did not want on the pizza. As the pizza arrived they gave her a whole pizza and they brought a supreme pizza upstairs which we was trying to figure out who pizza it was because other people was asking for some but we did not want to give it away until we knew who the pizza belonged to. However, after talking to my coworker she stated that the others thought we had just took their pizza to because it was in our class and did not know they were sending people to ask for the pizza because it was in our room but how were we suppose to know. It got me kind of upset and she told me not to worry about it. So later that day in the meeting after school I felt I needed to address the problem and told my coworkers how were we suppose to know the pizza in our room because our class is upstairs and you guys did not want the kids to see that type of pizza because they could not be offered any. They should have told us that they were coming to our room to eat instead of thinking we were trying to take the pizza they bought. From that day forward we…

My significant event is about my sixth grade trip to the Woodlands. It was right before the school day started, and the sky was blue and clear. After everyone was accounted for, it was a brief bus ride up the road to the Woodlands. Although I was nervous about going, that all went away because it was a beautiful day to bask in the woods, and socialize. The first day we were there, we were initiated, and we had to create woodsey nicknames for ourselves. We all hung out together outside the Mess Hall and enjoyed the sun.…

I began working at Keeter my first semester at College of the Ozarks. On my first day of work, the supervisor handed me a gleaming gold name tag that not only had my name but the state I came from. I watched as others put their nametags on, and I quickly discovered that most of them read Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. I looked down at my nametag and felt a sense of uniqueness, knowing no one in the room had the state of Virginia. I soon began to realize that my nametag sparked curiosity when the guests saw how far I had traveled. Guest after guest would ask the same question, “How did you end up here?” I answered this question dozens of times within a day. There were days that I would begrudgingly tell the Keeter guests my journey to this College, but never once did I fail to cherish the opportunity I was given.…

When I stood at the bottom I did not think I could make it. half way up, I knew that I could not make it. Now, standing at the top, I look behind me at the amazing challenge that I have just conquered. Not only is the hill at Eau Claire an infamous feat that every student must traverse, but it is also a metaphor for every hardship that has entered into my life. One hardship I have faced, was my sports injuries during high school. My junior year track season started off being the best experience i’ve had. Unfortunately, this time was cut short. I ripped a ligament in my leg ending my entire spring season. I was angry at the world asking, “why me”. However, I knew I still had a team depending on me. Day in, and day out, I would show up to practice…

When I imagined going to college for the first time, I thought I would cry and be homesick. To not be homesick I told myself to be involved with the Welcome Weekend activities and it worked! My classes were intimidating on the first day, but now that we have had many classes I am comfortable. I am using my time management skills everyday because I have many meetings to attend. Overall, I am glad I choose to continue my education at UW-Platteville because it feels like home.…

When I first started at Napa College, I knew that getting involved was going to be very important. However, I didn't know it was going to be a lot more complicated on my behalf to do so. This is because, when I first came to Napa Valley college, I had also just obtained my first job. The job which would allow me to help sustain myself and help my family financially. I was not used to this type of schedule when I first came into Napa College. This Is because I didn't know how to manage my time, and simply didn't know what to make as my major primary. I was confused whether to make school or make work a primary. So, I ended up making them both as a priory, which meant dedicating half and half to each. Later on, I found out that I didn't have…

At my previous employment, I was a cashier and a server at a buffet style restaurant. I was a new hire and was still going through the process of being trained. A large group of people came in. The individual training me said that since there were more than ten people in the group, I could add the gratuity to the check, instead of letting them leave it on the table, if the customers agreed to this. Shortly after completing my training, another group of people came in. These individuals had reserved a room for a party. I handled the situation as I had been shown during my training by asking if gratuity was going to be added to the check. I was informed that the individual who had reserved the room would see the servers personally for their gratuity. However, the servers received no gratuity and held it against me for not doing what I was supposed to. They were not aware that I had not been told that, in a case such as this, groups coming in for parties are automatically to be charge gratuity.…
