Personal Narrative: My Trip To The Science Olympiad
I would go to Minecon and Science Olympiad in Hawaii on a flying mosasaur! The whole Science Olympiad team would travel with me as well as some of my buddies. All of my number one Youtubers would be at Minecon and I would get selfies with them with my new iPhone 6s+! The Science Olympiad team and my friends would go scuba diving and observe lots of tropical fish and sharks! Then we would win the lottery! After that we would pinpoint an amusement park and ride all the rides we want to with fast passes so we wouldn't have to wait in the miserable lines! When we go to the Science Olympiad competition, everyone would place in their events and while we were waiting for the placing for the schools we would play with a ping-pong ball like we did at

The first astronomical object I observed was two very bright, small, and circular dots which I later learned were a popular binary star named Algeria. At first, I could barely see the stars but after focusing my eye in the telescope I noticed that one star was a light blue shade and the other star was a vibrant yellow color. Additionally, the yellow star was significantly brighter, more visible, and larger than the tiny, dull blue star. When I typically look up in the sky, I notice how most stars have a similar shape and size with the same white color and vibrancy as they twinkle against the background of the night sky. As a result, I was surprised by the distinct colors of the stars which might have been because I have never observed a star through a telescope before.…

I was awarded a wonderful education at Windham High School, but beyond the information I retained, I also learned what is important in life. At first, I thought all that mattered was the clothes you wore, what makeup you had on, and who you were friends with. There is more to life than all that. I love helping others and my induction into the National Honor Society allowed me to do just that, especially in my four service projects I had the opportunity to lead and be a part of. I try to please people and make sure they are always happy and I now know it is most important to give back to the community who gave me so much.…

If I could continue to participate in any activity through my university years, I would choose to publications. The school yearbook was the most fun I ever had during my high school years. I enjoyed every part of the process of making the yearbook, from taking pictures to editing them, to interviewing my classmates to writing about them. Everything that I had to do was so enjoyable. The best part was leaving my mark on something lasting. In this age of technology, there is not much that lasts beyond the digital world, and flipping through a solid book, that I put work into creating, was enlightening for me. My time on the yearbook staff seems fleeting, and I wish that it could last I bit…

I lace up my walking shoes and head outdoors in my neighborhood. I enjoy being outdoors looking at the trees, neighbors' plants and flowers, ducks swimming in the creek, and squirrels scurrying up the trees. While doing my internship at the Cypress High School I was able to acquire valuable knowledge on how to assist students with their academic goals, their social and personal development, and with their career development. The counseling department offered me a variety of training experiences throughout my internship, and I feel has prepared and shaped me to be a great school counselor. Aside from all the amazing training experience opportunities, there is good quality supervision. As an intern, I never felt alone and knew that if I needed to consult or seek out supervision, it was something I could do with any of the senior staff members at any…

When I was a National Honor Society Member at my High School, we were able to work with a program called VIP Soccer in which volunteers played with and taught special needs children the game of soccer. It was actually my favorite event within our organization especially when we got to see how happy each child was and the smiles on their parents’ faces when they saw that their son or daughter was having fun. Eventually, I was so inspired by this movement that I actually started a similar program but at my local golf club. How I got this started was actually by meeting the owner of the golf club, and the parents of my teammates on my school golf team. After a couple of months of planning and talking to more interested volunteers, I was finally…

On June 12, 2006, I was ready to board my flight at San Diego International airport, when I was given a once in a lifetime experience. As I began to board, the captain and first officer were greeting the passengers ahead of me. The line was moving very slowly; however, I eventually made it to the front. The captain and I began talking when all of a sudden he asked a very typical question, “What do I want to be when I grow up?” I responded, “I want to be a pilot” and for no apparent reason offered to take me into the cockpit. Inside the cockpit, the captain continued to talk about the plane while pointing to instruments such as altimeter and vertical speed indicator, when I suddenly asked him, “How did he become a pilot?” He responded by saying,…

It was the middle of the school year, and I had just moved into Duluth. I was begging my mother to put me back into public school. At the time I was being home-schooled but I hated it. So one day, my mom told me "since you want to go to public school so bad, I'll let you go soon." I was happy! I could finally make some new friends and go somewhere I wanted to go. Few days later, we went into the school I will be attending called Northview High School. We went to go get interviewed, but the lady that interviewed us was very rude. She was not hopeful or even encouraging. She told me and my mom that I was going to fail all my courses and will have to wait til the end of the school year. Basically, she wanted to hold me back. Who would have known how right she was. In the end, it worked out and I was able to attend Northview.…

When I stepped excitedly and nervously into the stage to get my third academic letter award in high school, it was the most amazing moments in my life; and without a doubt, it was a fantastic fantasy in between my hands. Arriving at my new school excitingly, Marshall High School, I met my new counselor, who was the first person I met in school. She told me about the school system, the teachers, clubs/organization and my own classes; all that was eagerness and thrilling. We walked around the school; I started imagine who I will be and who I will be friends: one of the popular students, the normal students, or the losers.…
