Personal Narrative: My Personal Beliefs
My own personal beliefs and values weigh heavily into my opinion on this subject. I believe that ever person truly is created equal, despite their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or nationality. The citizens of other countries should be given the same rights as every american citizen. Healthcare, education, and the right to lead a dignified life are rights that should be universally gangrened to every person who enters our borders. In the experiences of Antonio Alvarez, a young Mexican american who moved here illegally with his parents at the age of four, he was made to live a life practically in the shadows. When talking about how his life is effected by his illegal status Antonio said he experiences "... strong feelings of detachment

The values that I hold most deeply are friendships, family, and happiness. Values are things that are important in the way I live and work and I believe all of these things play a major role in my life. Since I was a little kid, my values have changed tremendously. Back then, my values would've been playtime, mac & cheese, and chicken nuggets. I believe values mature as you grow and mine definatly did. For example, when I was younger I remember being friends with everyone, but now I only have a select number of friends. This represents values to me. My values inform my actions by them always being my first thought while making a decision. They always play a role in my…

(#7) Our country is based on independence and freedom and anyone living within her boarders should have the ability to become one of her legal citizens. There, of course, should be restrictions and background checks for these undocumented immigrants, but I do not see why we cannot extend the opportunity for them to people a part of the USA.…

My greatest influences are my parents and my brother. My brother suffered from Guillain- Barre Syndrome when he was eight. He lived in the hospital on an artificial ventilation for 97 days and later he had to continue physical therapy for at least ten years as he was completely paralyzed. My parents and my brother devoted their few years completely for his treatment. Today, my brother is a successful engineer working in the bay area. I learned that with dedication, determination and diligence we can achieve our dream in life…

I have noticed in comparison to how others handle real world judgments on actions such as driving a car or stacking objects in a storage space, that I have trained myself to mentally document conditions so that I make better decisions as I visually perceive the situation. While driving a car on a multi lane road, I alway take aware of any side lanes. If there is a car ahead, I drop back to stay out of their blind spot. I put myself into their seat and imagine what they don't see by examining how their car is position in response to where my car is. What makes this hard is when riding in a car, knowing what I just said is not being applied by the driver of the car I am in makes me super nervous as the driver is assuming that that car is…

My mother, “Regina Hopkins,” has been a positive influence in my life. She has raised 6 kids all by herself as well as earned a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a City College in Gainesville, Florida. My mother has been through pretty much everything a person can go through outside of war and was still able to be there and provide for all 6 of her kids. In high school, my mother wanted to play football and couldn't because she was a girl and back-in-the-day women were not allowed to play football with the guys. However, she remained strong by raising 6 kids and independently took care of all of us on her own. My mother has several qualities that I would love to develop. The first quality she has is balance; she certainly knows how to make…

Human beings of all ages flee their countries from abuse, each and every person deserves the chance to start a new. It’s not fair for us to deny the rights of an individual to begin again. Men and women should have the opportunity to achieve citizenship. Without reform, 11 million continue to live in uncertainty and fear. Illegal immigrants should have the right to be naturalized due to them benefiting the economy, playing a critical role in our nation, and it’s just the morally right decision.…

“Blessed are the weird people. Poets. Misfits. Writers. Mystics. Painters and troubadours. For they teach us to see the world through different eyes” stated by Jacob Norby. Learning about the world through poets and writers inspired me to become a writer, myself. Students are able to interpret the world in a variety of styles performed by poets and writers. In conclusion, i do not agree due to the hardships women and children have to go through when traveling through Central America to get the United States. Anyone who decides to illegally travel to America is never promised they will make it, or even survive half way. All of the risks they take are deadly, even if it’s catching a disease to getting murdered by gangs. Aside from the hazardous trip, these women and children are not guaranteed a job or safety when they reach their…

Immigrants who are in the United States deserve to stay here. The government should not be hasty about kicking them out and help them stay in America if the reach a certain requirement. The process would include for immigrants to have a background check, paying taxes, paying a penalty, learning english, and they would have to wait just like other people who want to come into america have to wait. Their shouldn’t be a fight about who is and who isn't allowed to come into the U.S. anymore, anyone should be able to America and feel safe. Deportation needs to end, their shouldn’t be a right or wrong on what race you are if it’s hispanic or muslim, there shouldn’t be argument in this. Immigration is not a bad thing for America either, the economy rises and it adds jobs, over 9 million jobs were made just by immigration. Immigrants already pay taxes and most immigrants are law abiding, America should let those who have lived here remain here, as Bernie Sanders said “It is time to end the discussion of mass deportation. We cannot and we should not even be talking about sweeping up millions of men, women, and children, many of whom have been here for years, and throwing them away.” (Sanders). In today’s society more people would rather have people who have immigrated into America turn into citizens than get deported, it would be…

Immigration is another one of these tremendous debates. People from all races, creeds and social standing have an opinion on the matter making it a fueled issue. The pain and suffering some aliens and immigrants suffer is just unbearable. Millions of undocumented immigrants, “Families are afraid to seek health care and cannot enroll their children in school. They cannot call the police if they are assaulted or raped…” (“Illegal Immigration”). Illegal immigrant’s worst fear is to be deported back to their native countries and the sacrifices they have to go through while crossing the border. For example, “crossing the Mexican border into the United States must often travel for miles across open desert, Hundreds die each year from exposure to the heat, as well as hunger and dehydration” (Illegal Immigration). Illegal immigrants are not granted the same rights or privileges as others. I believe that illegal…

I strongly disagree with having migrant workers being legal. Think of the kids, isn’t there a law saying, “No child left behind?” Well many kids are left behind in their educations right now. Why? Because they are always on the move, transferring from one school to another. They have to learn different subject in every school and can never start school on the first day, and always have to come in the middle of the school year, then move again. What about the hard working parents, and their parents, generations after generations are forced to stay to mbe migrant workers, in order to have enough money and survive. And no one could ever ever make any friends. That is not fair, and yet many migrant workers are out there in the world, still suffering and picking crops right now, in this minute. I believe that there should be more than the 5o-mile law and for migrants to have more…

Imagine a person that wanted to get out of a place where they know that they have no future in. That person aims to go to a place where their dreams will be accomplished and a place where they know they will have a better future but when the person gets there, that is all crushed. That person finds out that people treat them differently based off of where they come from. The person doesn’t get the same rights as everyone else does because they are immigrants. What would you feel like if you were someone like that? People feel horrible when this happen. Immigrants are affected by this. Unequal rights affect for immigrants affects everything like for example other people's action, health care, bullying, jobs, and a problem to our society. This…

I think that illegal immigrants have no right to be in the U.S. I believe that there’s a big difference between “illegal immigrants “and “immigrants”. There must be a reason why someone would enter the United States illegally and most of the time it’s not for a good cause. Illegal immigrants can be potentially dangerous to the U.S and our society because we don’t know who they are and they’re not documented. There’s approximately 325 million people living in the United States and having extra people such as illegal immigrants, can cause overpopulation, low wages, and unemployment. The poverty level is already at its ultimate low and it could potentially get lower with undocumented immigrants sneaking their way across the border and staying here.…
