Personal Narrative: My Journey To Columbus State University
Back when I was in high school, I planned to attend a college that would be a fresh start for me. A college where t wouldn’t know anyone so I could make new friends. After I graduated from high school in May and packed my clothes in August to I was on my way to Columbus State University. I wanted to have because I needed new friends who were encouraging, supportive, funny, and most importantly, honest. I had times when my old friends would get me grounded by my parents for staying out too late, being involved with school drama, or going to the principal’s office for disrupting the class. This happened almost every other month. Those same friends would doubt me instead of encouraging me during some tough situations like when my dog passed away.

Before Kimber ended up leaving Columbus State, she had no respect for my belongings. I would find my cup broken or my clothes being worn without permission. I was so relieved when I found out she was finally leaving. After my three months’ experience with Kimber, I started to second guess myself on making new friends until I met Javian, Jaquan, and Shay in the café. They saw me sitting by myself and chose to sit and talk to me about school and classes. Ever since then, it has always been us four hanging out doing the things loyal friends should do. With the qualities Javian, Jaquan, and Shay have, I am happy with my new experience at Columbus State University. They each have respect for one another and they care about school as much as I do. We all help each other to study or do assignments together to make sure we get the grade we want. I also have trust for all three of them. Even though those qualities fit what I was looking for when making new friends, I am able to have fun without getting in trouble or drinking. None of us believe in underage drinking, illegal smoking or smoking period. We still enjoy ourselves at parties without those things. There is never a dull moment with these three, we are always playing around. However, we knew when it is time to be serious as
