Personal Narrative: How I Learned To Be A Hard Worker
As I thought back on how I learned to be a hard worker growing up, I would have to say I learned it from my mom. I grew up an only child with a single mother; it was only the two of us.
She worked two jobs. One was on the night shift as a nurse, and the other was cleaning houses during the day. Therefore, I had to do my part around the house. She would show me first and then let me do it. I remember one time when I was little she taught me how to make the bed.
She showed me how to pull the entire sheets off the bed so they could be washed and dried.
After they were finished, she showed me how to put the sheets, blankets, and pillow case back on the bed. Then after she mad the bed she would take everything off and would have me remake …show more content…
At the age of fourteen, I started working as a paper boy part time, delivering papers each morning. As I moved into junior high, I took various jobs as a janitor and a grounds keeper for local schools around the town where I lived. When my mother and I moved to a different town and I started high school, I started working as a dishwasher in a local steak and seafood restaurant. Management soon realized my potential and promoted me to prep cook, line cook, and then to sous chef.
Food Selection One might have the best food in town, but if one’s customer does not order it, the restaurant is going to fail. It is important to plan a menu carefully. The first thing one needs to do is give the best dishes the best place on the menu. It might seem obvious but do not hide one’s star items. One should place your star items up front and center where they can be easily found. Customer’s eyes are drawn to the center or the top right hand corner of the page. Studies have shown that
