Personal Narrative Essay: Short Story: Mr. Snyder's Life
Just like that, her world changed. One press of a key. One single act of kindness, and nothing would be the same again. Mr. Snyder was in his bad mood again. He walked straight past her desk and dropped a big stack of papers right on it. “Good morning to you, too, Mr. Snyder,” she said in a polite voice. She could always find a way to handle situations. In fact, some people in the neighborhood thought that she was some sort of freak who could never lose her temper. This young women, at the age of 22, was living her life out just like anyone else. However, there was something odd about her. She knew nothing about herself. Her favorite word was “hope”, and she would use it in every situation possible. I can’t send you across the world without a name.” He knew she was great. But she just couldn’t do it.
“Well, I already booked a flight, and used your credit card information so…” She was really hoping the bluff would work this time.
“Alright. But hey, please be careful. You don’t know what’s out there.” Mr. Snyder used a tone she had never heard from him before. He was sincerely wishing her off.
“I will. I promise.”
Only a few days later, she made it to Norway. Her case was to find a missing girl, that has been gone for about 11 years. Her name was Kate Janeway. She was the king’s servant, and treated like one of the princesses. Some people even say that although he couldn’t admit it, he loved her more than his real daughters. But one day, she was taken, brainwashed, and would never see her past life again. The king fell into despair, and without his servant, he would never be the same. They couldn’t even get him to smile.
She went from town to town, but no one would answer her questions. They would simply ask, “Who are you?”
Her response was, “I… my name is… I’m sorry. I don’t know.”
Then the door would slam in her face. She had lost all hope of finding the missing
