Personal Narrative Essay: Going Up North
I wake up from a fallen sleep feeling very excited to go up north. I go downstairs for breakfast. My sister says “Are the dogs coming?” “No,” my mom says. “Why?We are going up north?” my sister says. My mom sighs. “We are not going up north,” my mom says. Everyone stares at her besides my dad. “We are going to the Wisconsin Dells instead!!” my mom shouts with excitement. My sister gets a tiny bit mad that the dogs are not coming but, overall everyone is excited. My mom said that she was going to tell us the surprise when we got there but, my sister asked why the dogs were not going so that gave it away. We start to drive to the Wisconsin Dells. We stop at McDonalds. I get some nice chicken nuggets with ranch. The chicken nuggets were nice and …show more content…
We also do flips underwater. We do front and back flips. Next we go on water slides. We go on family slides, single rides, and scary rides. We finally are tired enough from all the swimming. We escape from the smell of chlorine water and we now smell the fresh air. After that, we change and go out for a fancy restaurant. The food was very yummy!!! My cheese burger came nice and cheesy in my mouth. We finish our dinner and then we go back to our hotel. We watch some of our favorite shows. We finally turn off all of the lights and fall in a deep sleep. The next morning I wake up from a pleasant dream. We have a coupon for dunkin donuts so my dad gets some for us. We gobble them up! My stomach hurts a bit but then, I feel a bit better. In the afternoon we do some rides. My 12 year old sister Bella and I go on the ferris wheel, a mini freak, and this car ride. We go on the ferris wheel first. I get scared going on the ferris wheel because you go so high. After a while we go on the ferris wheel over and over again. We go on the mini freak out. Then we go on the speedy cars. The line was super long. I went so fast! I’m going to be a good driver when I grow up. Then we go on the ropes

The trail continued around the east side of the lake entering a gathering of trees forming an insignificant forest along the lake’s shoreline. From our viewpoint, the trees concealing the trail eventually dispersed on the southeast side of the lake, and the trail blended into the landscape. Using our imagination, we envisioned the route against the rugged terrain sloping into the lake. No point in taking a vote now, we had trekked to the lake and the consensus was to proceed with a lap around the lake.…

“ Come and eat.” Joe,the leader of the trip, struggled to say because he was so tired, “Breakfast is going to be light this morning because we have along day head of us.” We all struggled to get out of our tents considering it was 5:30am and there was a mountain we had to start climbing in a half hour. All thirteen of us stood in a line like we did the morning before while we packed our lunches. The options available to us were an apple, cheese stick, peanut butter and jelly to make sandwiches, but only 2 per person, yogurt and 2 bottles of water. All of that would have to fit into a back pack with us the would be stuck to our backs for the rest of the day. “Time to load!” Joe shouted. We all got into the van that seated 16, single file until very seat was filled.…

Yesterday me and my Dad went on an 11ish mile hike on the Appalachian Trail. This hike was probably one of the coolest hikes I've been on. It went from one beautiful landscape to another. As I was laying in bed that night with my muscles aching from the extra 1.5 miles we didn't plan on, I realized I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my Dad. He introduced me to my love of the outdoors and my passion to hike the entire AT. I hope one day ,Dad, we can stand on Mount Katahdin together and look back at the 2190 miles behind…

Shortly afterwards, I could hear the sound of weeping. I heard my Mom tell my Dad that Oma had passed away. Two days ago we had received word that she had fallen on her back and suffered a concussion. The fall might have been caused by her struggle with Alzheimer’s.…

It all started when we left from the hotel around five o’clock, hoping to get to the CN Tower on time. We were on vacation in Toronto in mid July, we had just arrived here a day ago from Niagara Falls. When we left we would have never imagined that this would be one of the longest walks some of us have taken. Pleasantly, we left for the CN Tower, which we thought couldn’t be a great amount of distance from our hotel. We were wrong!…

As a Canadian high school student living in Alberta I only consider myself as part of the nation I was born in, which is Canada. My parents were born in Pakistan and almost all of my family is in the Middle East, although a few also reside in areas such as Australia and the United Kingdom. Despite this, I have only been to these areas once in my lifetime, and during that time I was barely a year old. This is why I do not consider myself a part of any other nation besides Canada. The culture and language of these areas, especially the lifestyle of the middle east are very familiar to me, having grown up surrounded by them. However, I do not have any personal connection to the east and because I have lived in Canada my entire life, I cannot even fathom the idea of aligning myself with a nation other than Canada and I do not consider myself a hyphenated Canadian.…
