Personal Narrative Essay About Soccer
Surrounded by a massive ray of brightness, complete silence, I was just as shocked as my mother and father standing on the lush and thick grass. All I could see was my teammate, Zayna with her short, black, thick hair and the other team's goalie. I was standing on the field right in front of the goal. Even at the age of 8 years old, one soccer goal would be a great accomplishment for me and would help me move forward in life. I was so excited when I joined my first soccer team, the Hornets, because I have always loved playing soccer and I finally got a chance by playing on a real team. Our uniform could not be beaten. Our jersey was pink and black with black shorts. Our socks were pink with black stripes which I adored. One Saturday morning, …show more content…
It was like a slow motion movie. I could only see a speck of the ball in the air. The sun pierced out the clouds and shined brightly into my eyes. I was staring straight at the ball then at the goal, then back at the ball again. The ball decked my forehead and flew back into the air. I was facing the goal, and I hadn't even noticed it. The goalie with a bright neon green jersey dived into the air to block my header. She dived late and completely missed the ball. The ball whipped the net, and I was shocked, but also excited at the same time.
I could hear everyone screaming,”Oh my gosh, yes Salma, you go girl.”
All my teammates came up to me and yelled, “That was a great shot.” They said, “THAT WAS SICK!”
I could hear the parents on the side of the field yelling, “Good job, Salma!”
My coach even said to me, “I’m glad I put you playing on forward.”
I had no words to express what I was feeling. I have made my parents, coach, and teammates proud of me and have made a status for myself. I knew that after this accomplishment I could achieve things I truly desire in life if I am willing to work hard to get

And to finish up that inning we just got a couple ground balls and we turned a double play. And for the next few innings nothing really happened both teams were struggling to hit. Now it's like the 5th inning and we have the top of our hitting order up so we had:Liam,Luke,Ryan,Alex as our 1,2,3,4 hitters. And we got a rally going and we scored a couple runs so at this point the score is 5-1 and we have the lead so then I go into the 6th inning to pitch and I can only do ⅔ of the inning so than Ryan comes in and pitches and to finish out the 7th Alex pitches a 3 strikeout inning. So the game was over and the presedent of the league gave me the game ball to keep and bring home and everyone on our team got a trophy to take home after we won we were all so happy that we won the championship because it was or a lot of people the first time they won something. The…

After finishing my breakfast the game started and I was a starting point guard and i was also the jumper. I tipped the ball to my team we started with it. By the end of the first quarter we were up 12-0 with all points scored by me. In the second quarter we started with the ball and immediately scored on the other team. After scoring the immediate basket we all knew this quarter was going to be like the first one, a total blow out. We ended the second quarter 21-0 still with all points scored by me.…

It started just as any normal Saturday would; December 8, 2012, I woke up, went through my morning routine and went to soccer practice. I was competing for a spot on the North Carolina ODP (Olympic Development Program) soccer team. Training was being held at fields about two hours from my house. I sat in the backseat of my dad’s car with my two sisters and as we rode to the fields I began to mentally prepare myself for how I would play my best and make the team.…

My club soccer team sat in the same Taco Mac to watch every game the national team played in that 2011 World Cup. As most of us were just starting high school that summer, we could relate to Morgan. I was a rising freshmen and being the youngest in the school trying out for a varsity sport is always hard. Once I received news I was on the Varsity soccer team I was excited but I knew that was only the beginning. I would be starting center mid with two other seniors who had experience and been on the team for three years. The season was tough after losing in the first round of the state playoffs but in the end I scored 13 goals for the team my freshmen year. Alex Morgan’s effort really pushed me that season. I kept reminding myself of her accomplishments and how I could easily reach some of my own.…

It was a fun game to watch, as we all thought about us playing on that court the next day. It was finally game day, and we had to play Stewartville, 2nd place from Minnesota. They were athletic, but we ended up winning the close match. Our next rival was the Bismark Thunder, 1st in North Dakota and last year's national champions. We were nervous since the were taller, stronger, faster, and just better than us. We lost to them, but we were fired up to play for 3rd place. The team headed over to the Target Center for the 3rd place game. Playing there was so neat, being under the lights, having them announce your name, and just being with the tam. We played Grafton, who placed 2nd at state in North Dakota. They looked like us, athletically, so we weren’t too worried. We came out with a bang, ready to play. Darby and Ellie pushed it up the court on fast breaks, giving us the early lead. Rilee and I played great defense on the post, as well as Marlee on the wing. Jenny came in and scored a couple before halftime. We were tied 17-17 at the half, and we knew we would have to work even harder. Halftime was over, and we played our hearts out the rest of the game. Mavis and Paige played great offensively, as well as Taylor on defense. We beat Grafton, 36-34, with Darby’s 1:00 left, 2-point shot. We were so happy that we had pulled off that win! We spent the next hour at the…

At age 4 I was so much bigger than everyone they told me to play up 2 years. At age 8 I competed in my first high caliber game. At age 10-13 I played on a reigning 4x state champion soccer team who went anywhere just to get challenging competition. At age 14 I despised soccer. I would absolutely dread going to practice. The new coach killed every single sort of passion I had for the game. So I took a break. At age 15 I got back into it. That summer, I verbally committed to play soccer at the University of Idaho to play D1 soccer.…

The vibration of the basketball hitting the ground is the best feeling the world. Light was shining through the humongous windows onto the worn out gym floor like a flash light. As a freshman, I made the varsity volleyball team. With this position came a lot of responsibility and pressure. My teammates always looked at me as the “baby”, but they expected me to play at the same level as the seniors. I learned how to deal with difficult personalities and I learned how to commit myself to a team and a sport. I also learned that I was a role model to other teammates and young volleyball players. Just like the Pink Ranger, people looked up to me and I tried to lead by example throughout my volleyball career.…

It was a sunny but cold October day. My team was the Pink Dolphins and we played the Purple Striped Unicorns. On my wrist I had my lucky “M” . My best friend, Alexis, was on the other team. We decided that we would hit the ball just so we could end up on the bases so we could talk to each other. Until the fateful moment when my coach said that we cannot talk to the other team.…

I got to my team's field and saw the perfectly chalked batter's box and baselines. I went into to the dugout and saw the lineup and I was batting first! I had the same excitement in this moment as I do every time I get a king size crunch bar on Halloween. I started to warm up and I felt good. Game Time was coming up but it felt like forever. I was getting the feeling that you get when you put a hot pocket in the microwave and your are waiting for that very very long minute. The ump told us to go to the dugouts and we knew it was game time. I got my helmet and batting gloves on and grabbed my bat. I took a couple swings in the on deck circle then I stepped into the batter's box. I swung at the first pitch and heard a sweet pop off my bat and watched my line drive hit land in front of the centerfield man and I was on first base with a leadoff single. All the nervous energy I had was…
