Personal Narrative-Accepting Dinner To The Homeless Community

In the spring of last year, my mother and I were walking down the street on our way to serve dinner to the homeless when it turned into a nightmare. The place we had enjoyed going to together and helping those in need became a place that made us shudder and think of bad thoughts. At 4:15 we were attacked and robbed in front of hundreds of people waiting in line to get the dinner that we were going to serve them. I watched, helpless, as my mom had her hair pulled and was punched multiple times. It was such a traumatic event that had a lasting impact on how I felt downtown.
