Personal Narrative: A Stormy Day At The Town Of Concord

It was a stormy day on April 18th, 1775 in the town of Concord. The rain was like hail and the thunder like mini-earthquakes. I had just gotten off my first job when I started to walk outside in a torrential downpour. All I hoped was that I didn’t have to fight in this weather. The trees were about to topple over onto the murky dirt road. A man suddenly came barging through the old oak door with a thundering smash and demanded, “Get out here now we’ve got a war to win, and standing around isn’t going to do us any good!” I realized it was the British general, so I got up and put and got ready for war. I asked, “Where are we going?” The general replied, “We are going to Lexington to fight the garrison of the Continental army.” We saddled up and rode out on our wet horse trying
I was calmer because of the sandwich earlier, so I thought to myself, I have to do this for my country. When we arrived in Lexington I saw that the weather was much nicer than Concord. The trees were starting to turn green, like the mossy pond beside our group. There were also massive wooden houses that seemed to belong to the governor of Lexington. I thought how could any one fight in this beautiful weather? Then I heard the American general yell, “Surrender now and you will not die!” Right after he said that I knew my general would never surrender. So he yelled back, “You will have to kill all of us to make us surrender!” That was a bad thing to say, because right after he said that the very first shot in the American Revolution went off. I realized the war had just begun and the Americans and British were at war now! One month later. I stand up and tell my fellow soldiers why we need to keep fighting, “This is not for the glory of battle, it is for the British!” Right after I say that all of the soldiers erupt in cheers.
