The reason my academics aren’t going well as you or I would like is because of the several family issues I’ve had to face during my high school career. It began my Sophomore year, I found out my mom needed surgery in her arm so the chances of her cancer spreading would be reduced. I was under a great deal of stress worrying about my mother, taking care of my four siblings making sure they knew everything was going to be okay, even though I wasn’t sure myself. It was all up to me; while my other brother worked to help with bills, my mom being in the hospital, and my dad working. Taking care of my siblings consisted of cooking, homework, cleaning, nightly routine, and putting them to bed. When the work was done it would be around 10 o'clock. It was already tough to buckle down and focus on homework without all the stress. With all this my first semester grade was less than great.…

However, I still have the strong desire and drive to become a dentist. I have a mother that is scared to death of the dentist after several bad experiences and a brother that is terrified of needles. I know of a person that breaks out in nervous rash on her neck before she visits the dentist. I want to make a difference. I want to be the dentist that helps change people’s perception and anxieties of dentistry. I look forward to handling a variety of dental care needs and I am committed to promoting oral healthcare. I am a well-rounded and motivated person, who will thrive in a university…
As I was looking for a Physician Assistant program I focused on three main things: research, prestige, and location. I was fortunate enough to discover that Yale PA program exceeded my expectations. As a clinical research assistant, I have had the pleasure to work with great clinicians (doctors and physician assistants alike) who have graduated from Yale Medical School and Yale PA program. Their perseverance, ability to react efficiently and decisively in difficult situations are some of the many qualities that Yale highlights and solidifies in its programs. Furthermore, shadowing one of the physician assistants who graduated from the Yale program gave me a better insight on the rigorously, expectations, and preparations of Yale PA program.…

Kathy, it appears you have gained valuable knowledge and learning experiences during your practicum internship thus far. Your review of goals and objectives are attributes that will facilitate further development of your leadership skills, how exciting! The insight that you provided through the nurse/physician communication and collaboration seminar was valuable knowledge for me to reflect upon in my leadership development. The remaining goals and objectives that you have outlined in order to meet the course concepts and finalization of practicum experience will provide additional attributes and skills to foster your journey in attaining leadership growth. The simulation lab sounds exciting and appears to have attained a positive collaboration with the right stakeholders to facilitate the evidence-based practice concepts needed to provide favorable educational guidance that is conducive to the organization’s educational goals.…
Selecting a perfect career for you may not be a simple decision and accomplishing it is indeed more challenging. After always being fascinated by perfect teeth and smiles; a course in high school about medical terminology and a dental assistants class then lead me to decide that dentistry was a field I was interested in. I turned to my high school dental assistants teacher as a mentor. She guided me with many tips and skills to follow in order to reach my career goal, and that not only can an A in the classrooms can lead you to be a dentist. Two years later, after finishing dental school my success derived from not only an outstanding Gpa and a required Dental Admission Test score, but achievement had came from mastering major skills such as critical thinking, oral communication, and…
During my educational journey specifically at the high school, my goal was to be a best student in our year group. But I could not achieve it. With this behavior, I could not have much information about what is going around on campus and the available platforms to learn and explore more.…

I first began looking at colleges my freshman year of high school. First, I looked up schools I thought seemed interesting and had majors I thought I may want to develop and pursue a career in. My list started off with about 20 schools and by sophomore year I would need to break it down to about 10. I began to visit these schools 1 by 1 and saw the type of programs they had to offer. I began at colleges such as Wake Forest, Clemson, and University of Tennessee at Knoxville. But I could tell that these schools just weren’t for me. My mother became fed up because I did not find interest in the schools I thought I would fall in love with.…

At the end of the day, you are solely responsible for your success and your failure. And the sooner you realize that, you accept that, and integrate that into your work ethic, you will start being successful. As long as you blame others for the reason you aren't where you want to be, you will always be a failure. -Erin Cummings…
