Personal Narrative: A Career As A Wrestling Student
What I've done this year is ive been working on all of my work in each class, I've recently joined the wrestling team and I think that will be a good sport that I would be good at. I feel like I've been really trying hard to do my school work and really getting things done on time and not late. I think I'm at a place where I'm doing okay i need to step up my game and bring up my chemistry grade, but over all I've been doing good, and I've also been doing good in wrestling. I see my self going to college with a scholarship for wrestling, but if that doesn't seem to work out my other choice is to join the navy and traveling around the work doing my job and planning to stay in there for a long time.

The reason my academics aren’t going well as you or I would like is because of the several family issues I’ve had to face during my high school career. It began my Sophomore year, I found out my mom needed surgery in her arm so the chances of her cancer spreading would be reduced. I was under a great deal of stress worrying about my mother, taking care of my four siblings making sure they knew everything was going to be okay, even though I wasn’t sure myself. It was all up to me; while my other brother worked to help with bills, my mom being in the hospital, and my dad working. Taking care of my siblings consisted of cooking, homework, cleaning, nightly routine, and putting them to bed. When the work was done it would be around 10 o'clock. It was already tough to buckle down and focus on homework without all the stress. With all this my first semester grade was less than great.…

You can see a big room full of karatekas, which is the Japanese term for karate students. There are several groups of karatekas all around the room and they all possess different colored belts. If you look towards the back, you can see a group of black belts on their knees surrounding a combat. One of the fighters is a sixteen year old girl named Breeanna Wade. Through my high-school rowing career, it was my goal to win first place in at-least one competition, whether it be in a boat with four people, or a boat with eight people. Shortly after I was added to the team, I switched places with the stroke seat in my boat due to my determination and hard efforts. Stroke seat sets the rhythm for the rest of the rowers, and as I quickly improved to be the most powerful and technical rower in my quad boat, I was to be the metronome. That year, we won most of our competitions. For the following rowing seasons, I was set as stroke seat in many of the boats I had competed in. I continued to improve my technique and speed in the boat, and became one of the most reliable stroke seat members in my school's entire…

To express his believe about stretching one’s limit, the great Guy Finley had once stated, “The limit of your present understanding is not the limit of your possibilities.” Inspired by his quote, I, Giang Pham, believe that I would be a valuable member of McGarvin’s Academic Pentathlon team. Based on my personal knowledge of Pentathlon, I have first-handedly experience the soul of a Pentathlete through various study sessions at Ethan Allen. Because of this, I have developed a deep insight of the components necessary to be a true Pentathlete.
