Assignment 2
John the supervisor for the cafeteria on campus prepares a work schedule each week. Charmaine and Aubery are disappointed with their assignments and number of hours this week. Charmaine thought that he was unfair since she was always assigned on the weekends. John was approached regarding the matter . He called a meeting to identify the problem and its possible solutions.
During the discussions Charmaine and Aubery realized that the problem was not thier work schedule but the availability of staff for each assignment and the work load for that week. Each person now understood the real issues.
John realized that all concerned was affected by the problem therefore he asked then to state their concerns and after much deliberation three plausible solutions listed.
a. during peek time allow for persons who have to get on the job trainng at the cafeteria. b give persons the same treatment regardless of their religious affliation.
c. If more than five persons are absent at one time, themn hire help.
John indicated that all the ideas could not be presented to management hence the feasibility of each suggetion must be examined. He informed the gathering of the criteria for selecting the best fitting idea.
a. the avalibility of finances to satisfy the requirement.
b. the quality of the service offered must not be comprimized. after much tweeking of the ideas Charmaine whose sister is a teacher suggested that during that time of the year they shoud allow for student to get work experience. she indicated tha it would not the company much and that they could benefit from government discount tax allowances.
John indicated that it was a brilliant idea and he would present it to management.
The easiest step of the agenda were steps two (2) and three(3), that is- analyzing the problem and identifying the possible solutions. These steps were easy because the problem was identfied and
