A person should never judge a person by external appearance. Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.
I believe that judging about anyone by his external appearance, we perform a tremendous mistake. I have numerous examples in my life when I didn't like the people at first site but eventually they have become my friends.

The culture and subculture determine the appearance of their followers, but they don't determine the entire consciences and qualities of the representatives. There are manifold types of clothes all over the world and if the woman wears in Arab headscarf it doesn't mean that she is a terrorist. It's most probably the part of her culture, but unfortunately we have in mind stereotypes from a TV. Even in one country numerous subcultures represents the different types of the appearances yet good and bad people are everywhere.

As a matter of fact people have bad and good days and they look and behave accordingly to their moods. It's quite common when a person, having temporary money problems, wears and looks not too exquisite and, even he's a good specialist, it will be hard for him to find a job. Sometimes a person don't have enough time to maintain the glamorous appearance, what obviously doesn't signify that he is worse than another, spending his time in a beauty shop.

Someone, who doesn't have excellent exterior, could have other, more important qualities. Will you be friends with the beautiful but stupid and selfish man? Certainly will not. He could be a good musician, awesome orator and perfect sportsman, but you wouldn't give him a chance to show all these talents if you paid attention only to the imperfect appearance. Also, we could have some bad remembrances relating with the certain appearance and sometimes it's difficult to overcome them.

I believe it's not right to judge people by their exterior because you could miss the chance to meet with very interesting humans and make useful

By judging someone only by their appearance you are not giving them the chance to show what they have to offer. When you judge someone off of their looks you could be missing out on the kindest and hardworking person you have ever met. Some people can’t afford to dress in nicer clothes and just have to work with what they have. Other people prefer to dress in what makes the either feel nice about themselves or comfortable. The way a person dress should not be a major factor when it comes to judging them because they are many aspects as to why they are dressed a certain way.…

Our culture judges a book by its cover. People usually will judge other people by their physical appearance when they first meet someone. That first impression is how we think a person is whether it been smart, successful, confident, or the opposite. People make it so important to be looked as “normal” that they will behave and look a certain way just to be perceived as normal by the people around them.…

The way our society has a way to view other people by their appearance will probably never change. In some way everyone has it set in their mind what makes a person perfect. These things about people include personal appearance, money and intelligence. We do not always get the chance to get to know a person, but we always make assumptions about people. Two poems, which show different view of someone, include Richard Cory and Barbie Doll.…

People are characterized by many things, more often their appearance; unfortunately, it is my belief that society has placed stigmas on people who do not conform to what is considered the norm. Admittedly so, I judge others by superficial characteristics. For instance, if a person’s clothes look disheveled and their hair unkempt I assume that they are not trustworthy, unclean and probably on drugs. In contrast, when I see a person who is dressed neatly and drives a nice vehicle, I assume they are educated, have a high paying job and own a home.…

I do agree with the fact that you should not be affected by the appearance of a person. Transcendentalism also confirms the above idea. There are three main reasons that we should not decide to do something according to his/her appearance; First, it may lead to a misjudgment about that person. Second is the fact of differences between appearance and one's real personality. Finally, it may make you ashamed!…

Now, I’m not going to lie and say that I’ve never in my life judged a person based on their clothes, or makeup, because I have. Even though I don’t like to admit it, on many occasions I’ve met someone for the first time and assumed different aspects about them based on ones outside features. But just because I associate their appearance with certain behaviors or attitudes, doesn't mean that I stick them in a stereotype box and that's all they ever are to me.…

I ask this question in an attempt to focus on the tendencies of judging and the norm. Everybody has their own perceptions of what is normal and they make judgments based off of these perceptions. Many of these perceptions cause biases to be formed. A bias is “a particular tendency or inclination, esp. one that prevents unprejudiced consideration of a question; prejudice.” This essentially means that everyone has formed their own prejudice beliefs from life experience. Everyone has their own bias, whether it is towards a certain race, gender, music genre, what a person wears, and so forth. Biases are formed for almost everything you could possibly think of. So can someone truly understand a person by making quick judgments? Must we not first analyze and truly understand a person before we make a judgment about something like their personality or character.…
