Penn Foster Med Trans Case Study
Exam #02800501 – Penn Foster med trans As an office manager for DMD Medical Supplies, it is imperative that I ensure the company’s dollars are economically spent through the efficiency of my employees. Currently, the company is forced to pay $200 in overtime per month due to what appears to be ineffective time management as a whole throughout my group. Unfortunately I can only adjust the way two of these employees manage their time, as they are the individuals of whom I am in charge. In order to reduce and even eliminate overtime, the workload handed down by the executive team needs to be re-dispersed more evenly between Ruth Disselkoen and Jack Snyder. Jack will now have less free time for longer breaks and late arrivals to work, and

Target, the second-largest retail chain in America, pledged to make their bathrooms and their dressing rooms gender-equal to demonstrate their commitment as an inclusive corporation. Steven Wait, the city council president of Oxford, opposes the newly passed law by saying, “Our citizens have a right to feel safe. The ordinance is meant to protect women and children from those who would take advantage of a bathroom-use policy held by the retail chain Target” (Wait). Target is one of several corporations who have enacted the potentially dangerous bathroom policy and as a result, hundreds of thousands of people are boycotting the company. Although the restroom policy seems flawless for transgenders who are attempting to avoid confrontation…

The first way is to have a strong policy in place requiring all overtime to be authorized in advance. While you cannot refuse payment for overtime if they don’t follow the rules, you can discipline them by writing them up, putting them on probation or even letting them go. But, before you resort to these measure, make sure the discipline is warranted. There are times when the employee may simply not have enough time in their day to finish all the work you are requiring them to accomplish.…

I believe that Joanna should recommend that Sam Wilson reorganize and restructure the department as a whole. They should assign roles to each individual depending on their job description, to avoid the problem of having some people doing more work than others. Also, the top management has to involve the department in decision making and engaging them in giving ideas and enhancing their services. For example, setting weekly or quarterly goals and trying to meet them. This step also allows the organization to evaluate themselves and knowing how they’re doing. The more the workers get involved in the strategic part of planning, the more they feel obliged to meet those goals and the more they feel loyal to the organization.…

In efforts to resolve the issue , I also find it essential to have Jack and Ruth track the amount of time it takes them to complete their work on a daily basis. Monitoring the amount of work they complete within the hours that they work will allow me to determine and distribute the work load evenly between Jack and Ruth to ensure that all the work is being accomplished for the benefit of DMD Medical Supplies. Overtime hours will greatly decline if not even seize altogether. Lastly, we must implement mandatory timed breaks in order to eliminate the dilemma of employees taking longer, shorter, too few or too many breaks. I will make myself accountable to check on employees during their break times to ensure that they are giving themselves a break and for the proper amount of time. Through the implementation of these changes employees will be more organized, work ethic and quality will improve and reflect positively on the company as well as save the company money through the significant decreases on overtime hours and on less time being spent making corrections to work that was previously done…

How would you convince your employees that working less hours, not more, is more beneficial for them and the company? I would honestly explain to my employees how working less hours can prevent them from becoming 'burned out' and decreasing performance. I would also explain plainly how by working more hours when not necessary is draining on the company and its ability to afford the employee's salary's. however i would one on one discuss the goals of each employee using McClellands theory's to work with the individual at reaching those personal goals even with a lack of excessive hours required.…

Refusal by any employee to accept such overtimes work should not be a grounds for employment discrimination, dismissal, or discharge or any other penalty. This proposal attempts to strike a balance between the needs of both employers and employees. It recognizes that employers’ demand for labor may fluctuate from day to day and week to week. Unexpected labor shortages may arise due to an increase in business activity, sick leave, or other unexpected circumstances, and employers surely need to have some discretion to vary employees’…

Approaching this problem, we should look at in a financial perspective. Understandably, the organization has to make more money by increasing its productivity and revenue or by reducing the expenses that the organization makes (American Academy of Family Physicians, 2016). In addition, this organization emphasizes that most of the healthcare organizations spend much of their financial means through staff costs. However, you can find some of the staffing tasks irrelevant or not very necessary. The scenario does not specify the reason why the Medical Offices’ staffing costs got higher, but there might be some of the tasks on which money was spent were not very necessary. Identifying whether all tasks done are worth being done, and by the right person is the step to reducing the staffing expenses.
