Patrol Division: A Case Study
In the current organization chart the Patrol commander works Monday through Friday and is only tasked with the patrol division. The second commander also works Monday through Friday but is in charge of the Investigations Division, Inspection and Control, Internal Affairs, Comsat and Community Preservation and Safety Unit while the other commander is only in charge of the Patrol Division. This list of tasks would leave this commander in charge of over sixteen people, which could become overwhelming. The Investigations division works Monday through Friday and regularly works special details and emergency call outs. Investigations division is charged with investigating felony crimes such as homicide and robberies. Comstat is done on a daily basis

    Throughout Hitler’s reign over Germany there was an agenda that existed which led to murders of a great number of innocent people. The agenda was the extermination of Jews from Germany so that Germany could become a pure country in terms of ethnicity.     The philosophical approach that Captain Strong should take to carry out the project would be to find what is causing the problem with the workers and change those problems to accommodate everyone’s needs. According to almost all of the patrol officers “their workload is excessive and complains that all they do is go from one incident to the next and spend an inordinate amount of time creating police reports” (More, Vito, & Walsh, 2012). To decrease the patrol officer’s workload Captain Strong can approve of overtime for the officers to get his r work done. Also, some off-duty police officers can come in during the day or night and work together with the patrol officers to get the paperwork’s taken carried off. By doing this Captain Strong is easing up on the workload of the patrol officers as well as encouraging the patrol officers meet new people officers and develop new friendship help raise morale’s.
