Paper recycling Due to the increasing of population, more and more resources were consumed, the resources need long time to resume if they were done. And population in the world is increasing every year. So, we must protect our resource in order to that we live better. But how to protect the resource, in my opinion, except save resource, anything recycling is very important. Recycling is the process of making or manufacturing new products from a product that has originally served its purpose. For example, the scrap paper can second use through recycling Why is paper recycling important? First, paper recycling can protect the resource of tree. Second, it has the economic benefits. Recycling can create employment opportunities for a lot of people. Third, it can save environmental conditions and reduce pollution. Paper recycling is the process of turning waste paper into new paper products. There are three categories of paper that can be used as feedstock making recycled paper: mill broke, pre-consumer waste, and post-consumer waste. Mill broke is paper trimmings and other paper scrap from the manufacture of paper, and is recycled internally in a paper mill. Pre-consumer waste is material which left the paper mill but was discarded before it was ready for consumer use. Post-consumer waste is material discarded after consumer use, such as old magazines, old newspapers, office paper, old telephone directories, and residential mixed paper. How to paper recycling? The process of paper recycling involves mixing used paper with water and chemicals to break it down. It is then chopped up and heated, which breaks it down further into strands of cellulose, a type of organic plant material; this resulting mixture is called pulp, or slurry. It is strained through screens, which remove any glue or plastic that may still be in the mixture then cleaned, de-inked, bleached, and mixed with water. Then it can be made into new paper. The same fibers can be recycled about seven times, but they get shorter every time and eventually are strained out. Paper recycling is so important, we should insist to do it. I hope a green earth forever.

This is an online article source through a credible agency, the United States Environmental Protection Agency. It very briefly outlines how recycling occurs and the benefits of recycling, including reducing landfills. The purpose of this article was to inform anyone who is new to this field of study and would like to know the general idea. The process is very vaguely outlined and does not go too far in depth as to be understood by nearly any reader. The main ideas are the benefits and the three stages of recycling. The three stages are represented by the triangular arrows and are Collection and Processing, Manufacturing, and Purchasing New Products Made from Recycled Materials. Collection and Processing consists of attaining the material in a variety of ways, including curbside, drop off, and collection agencies and then processing and sorting the materials that can be used for manufacturing. Manufacturing consists of using this material to make new products such as paper towels and aluminum can, with more products emerging annually. The last step that closes…

Recycling and waste prevention are two very important ways to help address the issues of the environment concerning climate change. Recycling is a very beneficial factor that more individuals need to exercise in order to improve the environment’s pollution, reduce emissions of greenhouse gases, and save energy and natural resources that are used to produce products from virgin materials rather than from recycled materials, which uses less energy and produces less harmful pollution. Recycling has many benefits that helps improve the earth’s conditions. Waste prevention and recycling are real ways to address these problems and begin to make a change. Recycling turns materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources, reducing the amount of natural resources needed to produce these same products. Collecting your used bottles, cans, and newspapers and taking them to a recycling bin or collection facility is just the first step, in a series of steps that generates a host of financial, environmental, and social returns. These benefits accrue locally as well as globally. Recycling protects and expands United States manufacturing jobs and increases United States competitiveness by creating more recycling jobs and facilities within the United States and producing more of our own products with recycled materials and being less dependent on outside countries and companies for these products. Recycling prevents pollution caused by the manufacturing of products from virgin materials.…

The procurement of trees can occur either when rights are sold to cut down trees on land that is set to be urbanized or when commercial tree farms are sowed, grown, cut, resowed on the same land. Both means take energy, but the former takes a more natural, less energy intensive path, while the latter takes more energy input from the use of fossil fuels to power the machines to plant, sow and maintain the tree farms. Once the trees are felled, requiring energy input, it is converted to pulp. The transformation of tree chips into pulp and then paper is an energy intensive endeavor, taking fossil fuel inputs to form and shape the paper into a specific product. Some paper products take more processing in order to obtain the final product. Paper that needs to be white, undergoes a bleaching process, taking an input of chemicals and more fossil fuels, which may lead to the contamination of water resources. Once the final paper product is produced, it needs to be moved to market, which again is fossil fuel intensive. The use of diesel, oil and gasoline is not only used to transport the paper product but also used by the consumer of to move the paper product to its final destination. Lastly, once the paper product is no longer needed it is either put into in a landfill or it begins a recycling phase, which uses fossil fuels to move the waste paper and then transform it back into a pulp.…

According to Should the U.S. Scrap the Recycling program, “It’s more expensive and takes more energy and water to recycle old paper than to cut down and process pine trees and then plant pine seedlings.” When going through the recycling process it can cost more money than actually making a new product. For example, most recycling centers are sorted by hand, causing for people to have to pay for constant salaries. Even if we switch to machines to save more money, it will still cost a great deal of money. Although this does create more trash, landfills might not be a huge problem in the future. As you can see there are some negatives to having the recycling program.…

People never really think about the difference of throwing paper, plastic or even metal into the regular trash can instead of the recycling bin. Simply taking that extra step to put it into the right container can make a huge difference. The biggest thing to look at would be a newspaper. Think of all the newspaper that are printed every day and how many of those are just taken out of the plastic and tossed into the trash. If all that paper was to be recycled instead of thrown away in the end it would help save trees from being cut down. Trees provide oxygen and other chemicals to the atmosphere. So by cutting more trees down it creates a greenhouse effect on the earth which will eventually destroy our atmosphere. Even with plastic recycling it can make the biggest difference. Instead of things having to be made from raw materials, recycling plastic can save the environment from a lot of harm. Ultimately by not simply placing paper, plastic, or metal in the recycle bins society is setting the future generations up to have a terrible atmosphere.…
