Panera Bread Case Study
My recommendation for Panera Bread is to change its marketing strategy by innovating with a promotional strategy even if there are no direct competitors that replicated Panera’s business model. The company needs to promote its quality menu through promotional strategies undertaken to attract new customers in its bakery-cafes. Although the company is perpetually competitive alert, it should not forget that the novelty effect has an influence on customers and they may have to try the newly opened dining facilities in their neighboring. The brand needs to grow and for that an implementation promotional campaigns is needed to penetrated non exploitable markets to attract new customers. To remedy this problem, the Wi-Fi has to be controlled to create justice and balance between time of use and consumption of Panera’s products and also the balance between the two types of occupants (students and ordinary customers) because the internal environment of Panera was designed based on these two categories of occupants. When students are customer within Panera bread, business activities are compromised and this creates a lack of seats. Clients are not able to consume more foods that they want to enjoy and they may become reluctant to come back again. It is imperative to maintain this market share. I recommend that even if the Wi-Fi create opportunities for Panera Bread, it will be better to cut it at the lunch time, which is a rush hours especially when the traffic is the highest. Panera can also create a paid service to access the Wi-Fi internet pricing for a given duration because most students cannot afford to lose a few hours of Internet access. They have the choice to leave or be charged before consuming the service. It might be a sudden strategy, but over time, students will understand that this is a business and not a place of
