Outlier
An outlier is a person or thing situated away or detached from the main body or system. In other words, an outlier is a person who goes out of their way and does something no one thought was possible for them to do. Many people in the book Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell did things that people thought weren’t possible. People like Bill joy, Martin Luther king Jr. are all outliers because this individuals all did something extraordinary.
In the book Outliers, Malcolm G talks about the 10,000 hour rule. What he means by this rule that in order to be good at something you must spend at least 10,000 hours practicing it. He talks about a man named Bill Joy. Bill Joy goes to the University of Michigan and he begins computer programming. Bill Joy becomes famous for his quick ability and skill in the industry. Right after Bill Joy graduates from college he co-funds Sun Microsystems and he also helped write something that we all use today, Java. Joy has so much success with computer programming that much of the software used today to connect computers was made by Bill Joy. He was an extraordinary man who did things no one else could, he is an outlier in our society for helping the internet community. Martin Luther King Jr. is an outlier because he stood up for what he believe when all other were too scared to do so. He fought hard for his fellow African American community and in doing so he lost his life. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Reverend for the Christian church. He was a well spoken and intellectual man, who would fight for what he believed in. Martin luther king Jr. stood up against an entire race of people who hated his kind to help his fellow Americans. He talked about forgiving and forgetting all the discrimination against blacks. Martin Luther King Jr. delivers one of the most famous speeches all time, “I Have a Dream”. He said this speech in the nations capitol, Washington ,Dc, In this speech Martin talked about how someday he wishes that white men and black men
