Topic: Adoption (Open Adoption)
Specific Purpose: To persuade and convince my audience to adopt a child, whether it be domestically, privately, or internationally, and to raise the child with connection to birth mother and father if deemed appropriate.
Thesis Statement: Adoption gives the children a better chance at a good life.

Children everyday are born into this world and abandoned. Many grow up not understanding who their parents are or why they did what they did. Some live in orphanages and foster homes; others live on the streets, many without the comfort of a home. No child should suffer in any way. For these children to thrive and be emotionally, mentally, and physically stable, a certain bond needs to be made. These children need to be adopted by an appropriate person or persons, they need to be adopted when they are still a baby, and, if deemed appropriate, have an open relationship with the birth mother and father if possible. Today I am going to tell you why you should adopt a child.

II. Body People in the United States take many things for granted, especially the food they eat. Even here in this school, I see students dispose their unfinished meals into the garbage, people complain about how bad the hamburgers or pizza are, and wish for the cheap sodas and unhealthy foods they once had. You see children in the third world don’t have opportunities like you and I do here. They don’t all have education, books, shelter, or even the decency of food like we do.
