Little Arliss's hobby was to hunt small bugs and animals. But when a big yellow dog appeared in Arliss's house they had planned to keep him home. Arliss didn't like dogs so he called the dog Old Yeller. Arliss and Old Yeller had many exciting and dangerous adventures.

In this story there were many main characters. They were Travis, Little Arliss, their mother, and Old Yeller the dog. Old Yeller was a big old yellow dog that was very close to Arliss, and helped him in catching many of the animals. he was also brave, strong, and smart because he saved young Arliss from the mother bear. Old Yeller is the main character and the hero in this story.

Other characters had a magnificent impact in this story. Travis had a job to hunt for food, work for the farm, and guard the family. But different from Travis, Little Arliss was not afraid and young. He had caught many small animals and bugs which is his hobby.

But when this Yeller dog appeared they had caught a lot of bigger animals such as cotton tailed rabbits, snakes, and chaparral rabbits. All these animals were caught by the Yeller dog but Little Arliss had lied and said he had caught it. Travis his brother and his mother had knew the dog caught it but they act like it was true.
