Occlumency Lesson: A Fictional Narrative
November passed into December with little to note. Umbridge made herself scarce; a pleasant surprise, but so had Ron, which wasn’t so pleasant.

“It’d make a lot more than that,” he said, just loud enough for her to hear.
She turned pink, and he started to apologize again before stopping and buried his head in his hands.
“All right, enough of this topic,” she said. “How are you and Cho doing?”
His embarrassment faded, as did any trace of humor. “We’re not. Every time we talk we end up discussing Cedric, then go away depressed. She ended it a week ago; said she wasn’t over him, and that she was sorry for kiss—never mind.” “For kissing you after your D.A. recruitment meeting?”
Green eyes looked up under black eyebrows.
Fleur’s insides twitched. Damn it. That was the same look Tonks gave her morphed into Harry's form. If Septima talked her into playing that stupid game again, she’d have to be a little more forthcoming about Harry’s placement on her list of wizards she wouldn’t

There was a collective of gasps that ran through the audience, one of them coming out of Percy's mouth. Some women started weeping, and Annabeth felt herself gain a flashback to when the town's people heard that High King Frederick was dead. Oh, that day was boisterous to say it in the least. Many were either weeping, or in just plain denial, but the only thing that they could agree on was that the kingdom would never be the same again. And they were right to think so. Athena became cold and cruel, Annabeth became distant and far away, and everyone felt awkward and out of place.…

The basement. It’s like the Statue of Liberty, a place of freedom. Where all the troubles I experienced that day could be completely ignored. I don’t have to worry about anything while I’m there. What do I do when I’m down in the basement? I usually play on my Xbox but there is also a ping-pong table and an air-hockey table. On the Xbox, it feels like you’re in an alternate world, like a dream. When night comes (around 9:30 PM), one of two things usually happens. I either go upstairs and go to bed because I have school the next day. If I don’t have school then I usually go back down to the there for a couple more hours before going to bed.…
