Observation Of Corey's Cognitive Development
Corey’s cognitive development was observed not only through his interest, but his learning and reasoning as well. Throughout the final observation of Corey, I noticed how his cognitive development greatly improved as seen through his imagination and creativity. Not to mention he advanced in language and communication through each observation. Corey did very well at learning and attaining knowledge. He also interacted with his surroundings as accepted for a child his age. His different cognitive skills really developed as he meet certain developmental milestones.
Social and emotional understanding are very important aspects of a child’s life. Corey’s social and emotional development was very notable and was seen in every area of his life. Although he sometimes struggles with the management of his personal feelings and the understanding of others’ feelings and needs, Corey is only three and with time his development will improve. Corey biggest accomplished dealing with social development is how he can now accept compromise when resolving conflicts if it was suggested by an adult.

Abilities in this area include both gross or large motor skills and fine or small motor skills. Corey’s fine and gross motor skills are seen through his many creations with his hands; rather it be building towers out of blocks or scribbling with a crayon or makers. Final physical observation noted was Corey’s ability to dress and undress himself with limited assistance from the teacher.
Through my opportunities to observe Corey I learned about the many changes children his age goes through, and that cognitive, social, and physical development is greatly impacted during this
