observation in mall
After a long day at York dale mall I finally decided to get on the train and go back home. It was 7:35 and I was walking down the stairs to get into spadina station when all of sudden I bumped into someone while eagerly trying to put on my new sweater I just bought from juicy couture, I turned around and it was a blind white man probeally in his late 30’s, he had dirty blonde hair, clothe that were torn and way to big for him, he smelled as if he hasn’t showerd in days, he had such a seriose mad look on his face which got me scared a little, I then say “I’m so sorry sir, I didn’t mean to do that” then I got no response. I knew this blind man was the perfect person to do my observation on, so I quikly pulled my jornal and started to write. I was so shocked how this man knew were the doors wore and the stairs with no help. The train stared to come and a black women touched his sholders lightly to help guide him to the doors but he jump so fast had his fist ready in the air and said “don’t touch me” Many people on the train were offering him seats but he never accepted to anyone. He seemed so independent and I know I could never do this if I was blind. He wasn’t holding on to anything on the train, I noticed he did lots of small movements with his hands. He would put his hand out only a little bit and try to feel if anyone was beside him consently but he did it in away were the people around didn’t notice. Every know and then he would feel his strap on his bag the piece that was dangling to see if it was there. As soon as heared young station he quilqly got ready to get off and was moving his stick to make sure no one was blocking him. He got off and so did I, he walked to the west bound side while I went to the eastbound, I was in shock and I could tell he knew this staion at the back of his mind so well as he knew where the west bondstaion was with no hestaion on when to start walking up the stairs and when it eneded and when to make a right to head on to the

On the outside of the mall are lines after lines of cars are parked in the enormous parking lots. It is not that loud, every once in a while you hear the beeping of car doors being locked. Creative accents on the doors invite you to come in and enjoy. Different textures on the building pop out at you creating different lines. You go from flat to bumpy as move your hand against the side of the building. At night, the lights shines against the entrance making it easy for all to see.…

I am sitting just before the escalator to go upstairs to the food court and movie theater. I am sitting on a wooden bench with my girlfriend to my left. There are many shops surrounding me such as Champs, Pacsun, Traffic, Lids, Home Elements and Dollar Tree. The area that I will be observing is about 50 feet by 100 feet. There are 4 potted trees around me, one to my direct left, one to my direct right, one northeast and one northwest. There are also two fake plants directly north of me in between the two potted trees. There are two sets of stairs on each side of a long ramp to my left. As I look up, there is a large sunroof approximately 200 feet above me. It is sunny out today with few thunderstorms. It rained about 2 hours ago but has since brightened up and evaporated all of the water which means it is very humid outside. There is constant foot traffic inside the area that I am observing today.…

If someone would have called police after her first, or even second cry for help she would have still been alive. Reading this story made me feel that I should rely on myself more when in dire need, because it’s not for certain that anyone is going to help me. Also from reading this story, makes me reflect more on events in a previous essay I’ve read “Black Men in Public Spaces” by Brent Staples, were a man was heavily judged by his looks. From reading Gansbergs’ story, I further understand why some individuals stereotype, someone could take your life if you’re not…

To add, where the consumer’s information was compromised is not made available to the consumer.…

At the mall, I rarely encounter old age individuals. In total I saw three elderly women who were in a walker and who were accompanied by a woman which I assumed were their daughter. For example, at Macys, I saw an elderly woman looking at the clothes slowly and showing her daughter the pieces of clothing she had choose. The elderly women told the women if she could give her bottle water because she was thirsty. Then, I watch her drink her water slowly and then she continue to shop. In the shoe section of Macy’s I saw and elderly man sitting down at one of the chairs waiting for his wife to try on a few pair of shoes. As I watch him I also notice that he was falling asleep.…

We chose to conduct our social experiment at the Arizona Mills Outlet Shopping Center. Arizona Mills is located in Tempe, Arizona. Our experiment was conducted from 4:00 pm to 7:00. We chose this time frame to compare times of less traffic to the times after shoppers get off work. During the experiment the amount of shoppers increased from 1 shopper passing our position per minute to 3 shoppers passing per minute. The increase in shoppers happened close to 6:00 pm. We observed a mixture of social statuses to include white, hispanic, middle eastern, and black people. The gender variance was close with males usually being accompanied by a female. However, those that walked alone were mostly female. The shoppers walked comfortably though the Mall…

I was sitting in a restaurant along with my parents. The restaurant was on the first floor and we could see the busy Western Express Highway from the window. I was watching the cars, buses, and trucks speeding by. Just then I saw a bus trying to overtake another bus, but the gap was a bit narrow. The bus driver lost control and his bus hit the divider. It ran on the divider for a few seconds and then to my horror, it overturned. “Oh God,” I shouted. The overturned bus skidded and stopped in the middle of the road. My father too was watching the incident as it happened. He immediately called the Police and Ambulance from his cell phone. Meanwhile a huge rush had gathered near the overturned bus. Luckily there were only a few passengers in the bus who started coming out of the bus from the emergency window one by one. They were all hurt and some of them were bleeding. The public helped them come out of the bus and made them sit on one side.…
