The area was very noisy, it sounded like someone was moving around furniture, people were having conversations outside the testing room and someone’s iphone inside the room repeated made sounds, It was difficulty to focus, by the time the instructor decided to close the door I was already frustrated which made it even more so hard to focus. I did not have enough time to complete the beginning of the test due to all the distractions. In, addition to this complaint I will be contacting the NLN administrator because it is unfair to charge a student a non-refundable fee for a test and not provide a nice quiet area for

Fairness has been a major issue here in the United States and education is not shielded from this issue. The National League for Nursing (NLN) believes in core values which involves excellence, caring, diversity, and integrity and thus created the NLN Fair Testing Guidelines for nursing Education. Based on the concept of fairness, the NLN would provide all test-takers equal opportunity to demonstrate what skills and knowledge they have gained regarding a specific learning. NLN expanded their support on school faculties by providing these guidelines not only to be used as an evaluation method for student results, but to also support school programs and enhance student learning (National League for Nursing, n.d.).…

For me, this course has helped me understand my ELL students and ESOL experiences I’ve had in the past. It has helped my validate many of the decisions I made in an effort to help my students. It also gave me a better understanding of student behavior and challenges. I feel that if I had taken this course prior to my work teaching overseas, I would have recognized earlier some of the difficulties my students were experiencing. Because I had to learn through experience, I needed more time to recognize patterns of behavior and determine the underlying causes myself. I described some of my most challenging students throughout the activities assigned in this course. If I had known exactly what to look for when students are displaying symptoms…

Before transferring to Georgian Court University, I had already attended two other colleges. I lived in a dorm my freshmen year at Ramapo and decided that was not for me. After leaving Ramapo, I decided to take a few semesters at Brookdale Community College in order to fulfill some requirements while deciding where exactly was the right place for myself to continue with my education. After searching through many brochures and getting first hand details about schools from people I am acquainted with, I was overcome with joy when I found Georgian Court. Since I am double majoring in both English and Education, it is hard to find schools that offer the two as a pair as well as offer the special endorsement for teaching students with disabilities. Georgian Court is also one of the top teaching schools, with a very high rate of job placement after graduation, which was another thing that captivated me. The economy is very unpredictable at this point in time and it is only plausible to choose the very best school to go to that is well known for the extraordinary practices in the field of study you want to pursue. Here at Georgian Court I have found everything I have been looking for.…

After teaching French for the last four years of my career, this is my first year going back to teach English to English Language Learners (ELL) at Kaleidoscope Academy. For a semester, I worked mostly with seventh and eighth graders with English Proficiency Levels ( ELP) between three and five. The ELPs tell that these students have great social English communication skills, but their academic language is not proficient yet; that is why many of them still need ELL instruction. My goal for this year was to increase my ELL students vocabulary so they can be better readers and writers. I want my students to be able to read and understand different types of texts and books and to write with a variety of vocabulary for different purposes.…
