At the advent of the months of October and November, the terrains of Manali become bathed up with milky ice. At the day time, the sight of the red chinar leaves over the milky ice melting into water automatically attracts attention of the tourists. Hidimba temple:
The 'Hidimba temple' built up with wood work is worth seeing and is the main attraction of Manali. This four storied temple was built in 1553 which is dedicated to 'Hidimba' -the wife of 'Bhima' (one of the Pandava brothers). Sagas, taken out from various Indian myths are etched through out the entire temple. This temple is located in the 'Dhungari Van Vihar' where a huge festival is held during the month of May.

Old Manali:
Situated at a distance of 2 km away from Manali in the North West flank is the 'Old Manali' which also bewitches the tourists the most. This place is famous for the guest house and the flower gardens. It is here that the 'Manu Maharshi Mandir' is situated. It is said that the aadipurush 'Manu' had meditated over here at this place. There is a small village going by the name of 'Vashisht' inhabited at 4 km away from the Mall Road in Manali. There are several olden temples in this village dedicated to saint Vashisht and God Rama.

The Thekchoking Gompa:
There are cold-hot springs here. There is one 'Thekchoking Gompa' here built by the Chinese refugees in 1960 which is worth seeing. The idol of the 'Shakya Muni Buddha' is installed herein this temple.
The Rohtang pass:
The Main attraction of Manali is the Rohtang (pass). Icicles fall here during the months from October to February. The National Highway from Rohatang to Leh is closed for movement for 6 months because the season here changes in a moment. Tourists come here to enjoy the fun and frolics on ice. The hearts gallops
