Its importance cannot be overestimated. Modern Information Technology (IT) applications such as e-learning, ecommerce, online transaction systems and multiuser database systems depend entirely upon the existence of computer networks. In the context of the academe, the transformation of stand-alone computer systems of a school into networked systems will facilitate the delivery of instruction, sharing of information and resources, and the expansion of knowledge. It can be said that computer networks, at the very least, are as an important foundation of ICT as the computer. The proposed network Infrastructure Plan for the Data Center College of the Philippines – Laoag City campus was intended to improve their productivity, information availability, reduce their work delays and creates dramatic business competitiveness. Therefore the study was intended to design a Network Infrastructure Plan for Data Center College of the Philippines – Laoag City campus. Specifically, it answered the following questions:
Statement of the Problem This study focuses on the designing of a Network Infrastructure Plan for the Data Center College of the Philippines Laoag City campus. Specifically, it shall attempt to answer the following questions: 1. What ICT strategy should be considered to support the business requirements of the Data Center College of the Philippines - Laoag Campus? 2. What are the problems encountered in the existing ICT set-up of Data Center College of the Philippines Laoag Campus? 3. What Network Infrastructure Plan is to be designed to support the business requirements of the Data Center College of the Philippines - Laoag Campus on the areas of logical design, physical design, and security?
