Narrator's Short Story 'Seventh Grade'
In the story “Seventh Grade,” Victor, the main character, learns that persevering to achieve something can lead to embarrassing moments that can at first make you feel like a fool, but later on it can become something great through his embarrassing moments. The author illustrates this point when he states, Mr. Bueller asked if anyone knew French. Victor raised his hand, wanting to impress Teresa. The teacher beamed and said, “Tres bien. Parlez-vous francais?” Victor didn’t know what to say. Victor felt all eyes staring at him.     The story starts out as well with two friends, Victor and Michael, Victor being the main subject. Promising himself that he was going to make Teresa, a girl he had a crush on, his girl this year, was his main goal.
