My Personal Cultural Identity
”Culture is what makes you a stranger when you are away from home.” -Phillip Bock. Your way of life is the one thing that you have to yourself. It is the one thing that you or you and your family do together. Rather, it is your traditions or your customs ,it is the one thing that describes you which is your cultural identity. Culture is the traditions or customs you use in your life. Something that you do at the same time, every time or very often. Tradition is also something that comes close to your culture. A tradition becomes something you do annually , weekly or even monthly which has to do with your culture as well. My cultural identity is a unique one based on the influences of technology, food, tradition. Which is some of the things that is used within my Cultural Identity. In my cultural identity my social life is a big part of that. Technology is the biggest connection to my cultural identity. I use social media as a form of identification to describe my culture and tradition. Technology such as laptops and cell phones can be a big a part of my cultural identity. In my family I am the only child that does not consume chicken, macaroni, lasagna etc.. My family enjoys those foods because it is a part of our cultural background but I started to dislike those things. One thing my mom always cooks every 20th of each month is tacos which is my favorite food. Food is the one thing that gets my family together no matter what event , holiday or occasion. We barbecue the same things on the 4th of July every year, ribs, chicken, burgers, hot dogs, and steak.
