    My First Trip Home

I am originally from Moldova, a country in Eastern Europe. My country was a part of Romania and for a longer period a part of Soviet Union. Since I was seven years old I knew that I would live abroad, because all my three older brothers were living in Europe and I got information from them that Europe has many developed countries. Who does not want to live in a developed country? Everyone wants to live in a developed country, where people can achieve their dreams, and be successful. I choose to come and live in America, because is called “the land of opportunities”, and was one of my dreams too. So here I am, experiencing my American dream and looking for new opportunities that this country offers. I have been living in United Sates for two and a half years. The first time when I came to the United Sates I was shocked by the cultural difference between where I grew up and here. In the first year and half in United States I started to adapt to the American culture and started to live the American life. I always remembered how my life was at home, but as time went on my Moldavian lifestyle became a distant memory. Since I moved here I always wanted to go visit back home. I missed so much my family, my house where I grew up and everything about that country. After being here one and a half years I finally made that happen. I planned the trip to go visit home and I did. I bought the tickets for the dates of December 15, 2011 until January 15, 2012. That period of time made me realize so much about the differences between these two cultures. As I grow more as an adult, I understood more about these differences and what I love about these two cultures. Through my experience sometimes it is very hard to be a part of two cultures, it’s intense in a word, I feel like I am living two lives at the same time. Things are changing all the time and I was the one who experienced this process. I moved here in the United States not because I wanted to be far…

    The best trip ever

It was March 15, 1997. The time too early to remember. What was clear however, was the fact that I was soon going to be on my own in a country where I did not know the language or the people that I would be meeting there and staying with. The adrenaline rushed through me as I packed the last of my things and ran out of the door. I closed the door to my house and jumped in the car. The idea of leaving America and going to Japan seemed to really not have hit me yet, but now that I look back I know that I had to feel it. I think that the things that I was feeling was such a blob of mixed emotions that I really did not know how to feel so I will just say that I was excited. At the airport I met my best friend and two other friends of mine from school. We would all be traveling together, most all the time. The only things that would really be different would be where we lived and who we would live with. As the flight, Northwest number 69 to Detroit was called I could hardly wait and I jumped up, not being able to wait to board. We needed to travel to Detroit to get our connection flight to Osaka, Kansai International Airport. As soon as the plane took off it landed. Detroit was a very quick flight, only about an hour. Being a little nervous about not having enough time to make our flight I urged everyone to hurry along and to try and walk fast so that we could make our connection. Little did I know to my surprise after literally storming through the airport, the flight was delayed. Well that was okay, because we had three hours to do whatever we wanted, just the four of us in the Detroit Airport. Well we shopped, and we ate lunch. After a considerable amount of time, we boarded the plane, and off to Japan we went. I think that I knew how much trouble I was in when I heard four different meals, and five movie choices come across the loud speaker. The estimated flying time from Detroit to Osaka was about thirteen and one half hours. No big deal. I love sleeping really I…

    Most Memorable Experience

I've had many excellent memories over the last few years, most of which have come from playing in bands. The one that definitely stands out the most is my most recent experience of recording. Professionally recording is a long, hard process that takes a lot of energy and patience. When I recorded with my band, New Tomorrow, we started by creating a layout. As a band, we had a meeting with our recording engineer discussing the quality hat we wanted for our final product. Then we got to work. The first step in recording, of course, is actually recording all of the instrument tracks. First the guitarist and bassist recorded their tracks for all of the songs. After they were totally done, it was my turn to begin recording my drum tracks. This turned out to be about the hardest things I've ever done considering how much different it is to play to what is coming through my headphones compared to playing live. The first session that I had, I recorded drum tracks for six hours straight and finished two songs. The next session that I had, I put down three songs in thirty minutes. As I got used to playing with the headphones and there was pressure of time against me, I played them perfect the first time. After all of the instrument tracks were completely finished, a large load was taken off our backs because that was one of the toughest steps in the recording process. The next big step was to begin long hours mixing and producing with the recording engineer at the studio. As we began, many things were changed to sound different. There were also quite a few arguments between band members until we achieved the sound that we wanted. As the cd started to sound better with time, I personally became exited about releasing it. After every instrument track was mixed and mastered carefully, it was time for the vocal tracks to be recorded. Surprisingly, it only took a few sessions for our singe to complete his tracks. When the vocal tracks were done with mix downs, everything was…

Hello, my name is Harry Bailey and I have recently went on a trip to Canterbury with 29 very unique pilgrims. The trip was interesting and exciting to say the least. I definitely enjoyed meeting and interacting with these pilgrims and having the opportunity The weather could not decide between sunny or rainy on most days, but no matter what it was it was always hot. Some of the pilgrims came on the trip with impairments, but got the chance to get them fixed. The cook was able to get his knee fixed, the wife of bath is able to hear through her ear again, but we couldn’t find anybody to help with the summoner’s warts. He was unsurprisingly upset by that and caused tension between him, the cook, and the wife of bath.…

Women are important in our society. Every woman has her own job or duty in this modern society in which men are still the 'stronger gender'. The role of women in society has been greatly overseen in the last few decades but now it is coming to a more positive perspective. In the early days women were seen only as wives who were intended to cook, clean, and take care of the kids. They were not allowed to vote while men took care of having JOBS and paying any bills that had to be paid.…

Road tripping is supposed to be fun and exciting. It gives me an opportunity to jump in the car and explore something new. In the summertime 2008 when I got my 99’ Dodge Intrepid back from the previous accident, I begun my road trip to Yellowstone National Park in early morning. As I drove down the road, I soon realized that I had never been anywhere alone before. This was a new feeling for me, one of strength and fear rolled into one.
