My Longterm Goals
A personal short term goal of mine is to stay active and not slack off on my physical health. Exercising is the most effective way to put myself into a positive mindset. By starting out small and constantly overcoming my laziness I start to lose my indolent habit. Becoming more productive helped me realize I sold myself short, by doubting my ability to pass my Advanced Placement English test. I went in with a negative aspect, questioning my ability to pass it. By telling myself I cannot do something, it discourages me from trying. Although I did not pass it, I am still challenging myself by taking AP Government and Macroeconomics this year. I plan to achieve this goal by allocating an hour on Sundays to review concepts that I learn in class. …show more content…
I think that good writing takes time and is always evolving. I lack confidence in my writing, especially with grammar because of English being my second language. Yet, I do not let that be a hindrance, instead it makes me push myself to take more writing classes. I took a college writing course, although I do not need the credit. I will also be taking a writing class through the University of Minnesota's College in the Schools program. Because of taking challenging classes, my schedule is always full of responsibilities. One of my strength is organizing, yet a weakness of mine is time management.I relied on mental notes for completing tasks, but when it became too overwhelming, I decided to use resources I once overlooked. I am taking the initiative to improve, by setting myself a strict schedule and writing it down through the use of planners, and calendars. Learning how to time manage will come into good use when I go to college.
The last longterm goal I have is to graduate from college. Not only is it a goal of mine, but it fulfills my parents hope of me getting a good education. Although I am not sure of a major yet, I know it is crucial to get a higher education in order to live a successful life. I am giving myself options as I apply to multiple schools, in which I believe will continue to constantly challenge and help me
