My Hero's Journey
My heart is a mixture of hope and hopelessness, all around me is despair and misery and yet if I give up I perish. Every where I go I have to hold on to my emotions. Wherever I walk I see mutilated bodies and to think, that person could have had a life, makes you brake inside. But you have to stay strong, I got used to them, it becomes just a part of my nature. I mean, I see a body and then I disassociate myself completely from it. It was complete genocide. We unwillingly got forced onto a train. There were more thane 30 of us all in one carriage it was dark and there was only one window on the train. There was constant voices yelling, crying, mourning and screaming. A long time had past and noise began to dimmer. I made my way to the little …show more content…
I thought of when I was back at home during Hanukah with friends and family dancing with the music. I woke up with a fellow Jew tugging on my shirt saying, Quick, quick. The train had stopped. I got up and followed the line of people going out of the train. The SS soldiers lead us into a room where our hair was cut off by Capos, but this did not break my conscience. Everyone was just standing there, humiliated. It was like getting born again, we had nothing, no clothes, no possessions, and no choice but to stand ashamed and mortified. I thought what if this was the end what if all our lives end now, Ive heard of the gas chambers but never assumed they were factual. They were stories from around the ghetto, I imagine the where to scare away the Jewish communities. No one would think that we the people could allow an Anti-Semitist country. As I was standing in that room exposed to this corrupt world of Nazis, I felt a drop on my shoulder, then the whole room was showered down upon with what just ended up being

We were stuffed into train crafts, over crowed without any space to sit. We had a bucket as a toilet for about 35 people. I felt the presence of evil from the begging, and even though I know were heading to Auschwitz I don't have any predictions for my future. As soon as we stepped off the train we were separated into two groups. To me the groups were workers and the other were the useless. I haven't seen my mother or baby sister nor my grandmother. Me and my father escaped and are once again in hiding. We tried locating our family but we cant find anyone from the other group, but have seen bodies being disposed and the crematoria. I haven't slept but I've cried, consistently. As well as my father were torn down we understand what is going and are hopeless. I know the year, 1943. But not the day nor month. Help? I don’t expect it, not after 4…

Then they just left, nobody said anything. everyone was confused, Why would they just leave like that? If only i had known that they didn't leave they were only waiting. (after the funeral of Heindrich Hitler ordered Karl Frank that the small community lidice would be wiped out as punishment) On June 9th we were all sleeping in our bedrooms when we were woken up by the sound of trucks driving in, german soldiers broke into the house and ordered us to go to the village square. My youngest Bazil was crying and i knew something was terribly wrong. They told me to go to one side of the square while my children and my wife had to go to the other side, i was reluctant and screaming, they couldn't do this! First, after analyzing details of the book "Night", I feel several things need to be read and acknowledge by every human being in order to prevent future mass genocides such as the Holocaust. It seems to me that genocide starts as just a small idea and in no time it spreads just as a wild fire would, it grows rapidly. It's absolutely disgusting to know discrimination amongst differences still exists in today's society and eventually leads to the same conclusion. "Night", I feel is a great attempt to end discrimination and genocide which is why I truly admire what you have done by reliving your horrific experience in order to teach the world more about the Holocaust from a different perspective.…

One evening my family heard the most comforting words that we thought we’d never hear, “Bercent mon Coeur, D’une langueur.” (…Soothe my heart with dull languor.) June 6th was the first day of our liberation. I prayed to God, thanking him for giving us freedom. One day when the mail came for Maman and Papa. They sat down to read it instead of reading it by the door like usual. I saw that it was from the Red Cross. After some time they both broke down. My favorite uncle and grandmother had been gassed at a concentration camp in Auschwitz. Every now and then my mind would flow to those horrible memories and the only thing to keep me from breaking down was to remember, I had survived. I had survived.…
