My College Choice
College is the reward for my suffering from primary to secondary school. It is basically what my education has been building up to. My family and I came to the United States for better education and financial life. Going to college means getting a career that provides me with my economic and social needs so that I would not live in poverty. My top three choices for college are Southern Methodist University, Baylor, and the University of Houston. I picked theses colleges based on major, tuition (room and board), scholarships, average test scores, school setting, activities, and networking possibilities. My first choice for college is Baylor University. Baylor is a school located in the urban city of Waco, Texas which means that there will be many opportunities to get internships at the school. Baylor University does have a good biomedical engineering program, so it meets my first requirement for college. Although the tuition plus room and board are pretty high, at …show more content…
The school meets my requirement for it setting which is urban. I also meet my requirement for offering my major. The tuition for the university compared with my other choices is relatively low and on top of that, they offer many scholarships to students. The University of Houston like many colleges offers hundreds of clubs and activities around campus to keep the student entertained. In addition, the average SAT requirements meet my SAT scores, so getting in will be easy compared with my other options. In conclusion, my choice after weighing every one of my criteria is the University of Houston. Since the college has low tuition and low SAT scores, I think it will be an easy choice to get into. The college also offers my major and may scholarships, which is a plus. The cons of the school are that it will be in Texas, where there are not as much Biomedical Engineering career opportunities as there would be on the East

I can definitively, and honestly state that Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is the school of which I have the greatest interest in attending. For eighteen years, I have called the border city of El Paso my home. Our amiable and uniquely culturally diverse population is the reason that I have found living in El Paso to be extremely comforting. The loving nature of the people of El Paso allowed me to develop many friendships, which helped create countless beautiful memories. I want nothing more than to continue my education in El Paso, and to watch this city continue to evolve. Further, I wish to practice medicine in this community which has given so much to my family and me.…

Choosing what college to attend can be a daunting process at any time. Selecting a school as an adult student can be even more difficult. Beyond the normal considerations of cost, program types, traditional school or online, and location, there are additional factors to consider as an adult student. These may include work schedule conflicts, family life, distance to travel, and credit earned for life experience. The nineteen governors who founded Western Governors University took these things into consideration when developing the school and its programs. They developed a school that offers a truly exceptional level of quality in education at a price that is around half of that charged by other schools. So if low cost, convenience, and quality are important to a student, Western Governors University is one of the best choices in today’s educational market.…

Yale appeals to me because of all the amazing opportunities that it offers. I'm looking to go onto medical school and I know after extensive research that Yale offers me the opportunities as a pre-med student that I need in order to make my dream of becoming a doctor a reality. Yale offers a great amount of assistance such as health professions advising, career advising, and tutoring which isn't something that all colleges usually prioritize so I genuinely appreciate it especially because I realize that being a pre-med student at any college will prove to be demanding and rigorous.…

Deciding which college to go to is one of the hardest decisions for a senior in high school to make. Some people know where they want to go right away because they are either huge fans of the college, got a full ride scholarship there, or maybe liked the program for their major at that particular college. High school seniors must do a lot of research on the colleges they like so that they can narrow down their choices. The research they must do is to look for how much it will cost to get in to the college and the other things that must be paid. For example, the tuition is a requirement for all colleges. Others that must be paid are things like books, supplies, residence halls, and meal plans. There are several other different ways that a person can decide where they want to go. Getting into a college isn’t all fun and games; there are many processes that the incoming freshmen must go through to get into their school. A school that many students have looked into is Sam Houston State University. Many students worry about the admissions of getting into a college, but SHSU admissions is a very easy process to go through. When the student gets admitted into Sam Houston, they then have to be advised. Advising helps the incoming freshmen with what classes they need to take and what they want to major in. Sam Houston has a great doctoral program and the two that are very high ranked in Texas are the Criminal Justice and Education program. Many people choose to go to SHSU because of these programs. Students aren’t just looking for good academic opportunities though, they also are looking for a good social life. They will want to take some time off from studying and doing school work and will want to go out and be a part of different things on campus. Greek life and recreational sports are well known at SHSU and are joined by many students. These activities keep students social, active and healthy. This is a good university with an easy admission process, well rounded…

hy Sam Houston State University? Ever since I was in the 7th grade I have always dreamed about SHSU for my college. Of course, what I wanted to be changed, but no matter what the college never changed. My agriculture teacher tells me all about the college, and it makes me super excited to attend the college in the fall. This past summer my family and I toured the college, doing that made me fall in love with SHSU even more. The reason why I would love to attend Sam Houston State University is because it makes me feel at home, and they have a lot of school spirit.…

This school has a very friendly environment, and that is rare seeing how sizable the school is and the variety of people that there are. Texas A&M is the fifth biggest school in the country, and from multiple sources it has been said to have a huge sense of togetherness. Another reason to go here is that it is very well known and I would take great pride in being an Aggie. It also is less expensive than a lot of colleges in Texas.…

In order to practice, one must have obtained both an undergraduate four-year degree often in a type of science, and a doctoral degree from a certified medical school. In addition to this extensive education, a profession in the medical field requires a certification from either the state or a National organization that grants the ability to practice medicine. Of the many colleges that offer a major in medical sciences, I would select John Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland. I would select John Hopkins because of its reputation and history of constantly remaining at the top of the line for medical schools. John Hopkins University’s reputation is likely connected to the fact that they require a substantial amount of achievement and academic merit in high school. According to statistics in compliance with John Hopkins University’s’ acceptance rate, an average GPA of 3.8 along with an average SAT score of 2090 and 4 years of a Foreign language, a Science, an English, a History, and a Math satisfied the requirements for the 18.13% of students admitted out of 21,336 total freshman applicants. According to my Roadtrip Nation Leader, Jim Yong Kim, studying the field of medicine was the best thing he could have done with his life as it gave him a…

College is one of the biggest times in someone’s life! College is the time for deciding how someone’s life path is going to go and what the future will hold. Even though college is know as a time to party, it is also a time to crack down, become focused, and become serious about finding a career choice that will make a person happy, or at least pay the bills. Picking the best college for someone requires many criteria which includes: major choice, closeness to home, closeness to other buildings, and other important factors. Bowling Green State University and Ohio Northern University are two of the best options for my selected career choice; however, Bowling Green seems like the better option because the cost of tuition and I have technically already been accepted.…

The college that I decided to research is called Florida International University or FIU for short. I feel like this college is appropriate for me because many of the amenities available fit my liking. The school has a very large campus and plenty of students to make new friends with, and is located in the heart of Florida. Florida’s weather is similar to Arizona’s, with the exception of humidity, making it feel just like home. There are many extracurricular activities at this college such as sororities and fraternities, a radio station, student council, and much more to keep me busy outside of my studies. This college also has a minimum GPA of 3.4 or greater, allowing me to be surrounded by students who value their education just as much as I do. I think FIU would be a great college for me to consider applying to because it has much of what I look for including size, location, academic and extracurricular programs.…

My Name is april june and I am 21 years old. I was born right at the crack of dawn on September 3rd 1992 in MA. Currently, I still live in Worcester just up the block from Worcester State University. I attend Quinsigamond Community College and at the moment I am in General Studies taking general classes to help get my GPA up until I figure out what I would like to do for the rest of my life. I live in a pretty averaged size apartment with just my mother Angel. I am the “baby” of two older sisters named Danielle and Amanda. One of them just recently getting engaged and ready to start her life, and the other one has three children the youngest being one years old. My mother and father separated when I was about two years old so I was raised by my mother, father and step mother while growing up. Both of my parents completed high school and never went to college so they were not the type of parents who pushed college careers nor did they have any sort of fund for us to be able to go. Of course after high school when I decided to attend college, they are very proud and supportive for me to finish. When I began college, my mom also went back to college after seeing me and my sister do it, and she got a health and human service degree at the age of 40. My parents came from middle class families and on my mothers side, very few of my family members were college graduates. We often had no spending money or even good running vehicles but they always gave us love and we were happy with all of the small things we had. My parents used the permissive parenting style, at least for me and my sister; they never really used any type of punishments. They would tell us we were grounded from something but the next day we would be doing the things we were grounded from. We were always nurtured and my parents were easy t...…
