Part 2 Final exam
Quote I chose that is more relevant in my life is "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." by Michael Jordan. What this quote means is that it is not about your lost of the game or whenever you fall, it is about if you get up after your defeat. You should never stop trying no matter how hard life can be, no matter how hard life pushes you down, you should always keep your head up. The last part of Jordan's quote is what drives me to achieve my goal even after I fail over and over. One must know what it feels to fail, and with numerous trials of failure then one will push himself harder next time. Those who are afraid to fail will never come close to their potential goal because failure is a motivation to work harder in the future. When we see Michael Jordan, we assume he is the greatest basketball player in history and how succesfull he became. But, the reason why he became very succesfull is because of his numerous amount of failure.
This quote is relevant in my life because after I read his quote during my sophmore year, I accepted failure. I always hated losing and failing, but I never thought how failing will only drive my motivation to work harder. I wrestled my sophmore year through senior year, but i kept losing when I was in my sophmore year. I worked harder during practice, and as time progressed, my abilities and my winning stats rose every day I stepped on the mat. I finally realized, I achieve because I failed numerous of times. But, not only did this quote help me on the mat, but it helped me in my life as well. Whenever I struggle or fail at anything I do, this quote always reminds me that, everyone fails and with failure we achieve. This quote has helped me to never give up and to share it with people that no

The quote I have chosen is, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm”. This is one of Winston Churchill's most well known quotes. This quote was said during his reign as the Prime Minister of Great Britain. It is unknown as to where this quote came from but I found it to be very captivating. I feel like Churchill is trying to get the point across that in life it is normal to not be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and each failure shapes you as a person. Churchill is saying that if you put your mistakes in the past without changing who you are, it makes you stronger and more successful than someone who fails to do so. Being afraid of failure gets you nowhere in life so Churchill is stating that everyone should strive with great enthusiasm in order to be their best self.…

In “Mother Tongue” (1990) an essay written by Amy Tan, a Chinese-American author who has written a lot of beautiful novels, Tan argues that all languages have a purpose and value. Tan tells us how every language has a purpose by giving us examples from her own life, specifically, she talks about the way her and her mother talked; her mother wasn’t very fluent in English, but the little English she could speak she could say smart and brilliant things like, “ . Tan uses personal examples in order to make us believe in the importance of language. The people she directs this story to is to people who grew up in English homes from birth to see just because someone doesn’t talk perfect English doesn’t mean they don’t know things, they do have brilliant…

This quote can be applied to many different circumstances in your life. This is why I believe it stands out so much to me. When I first read this quote I thought about football, but then I started thinking about it in a more broad perspective. If you apply it to your job, family, sports, etcetera, it all comes back to what the quote clearly states, no matter what the situation you always have a chance to succeed. Even when you think you've hit rock bottom, if you work to better yourself and your circumstances then you have succeeded. I also see it as when others think you've failed, you can truly judge yourself on how you respond. I always judged success on winning or…

Human beings are similar to animals in their need to survive. Most would say we, humans are superior because we can strategize and think past our instincts. I would like to argue that we have just learned to adapt at a faster pace because of the technologies we have access to. As we grow we learn there are different ways of expression our opinion when we are at home, school, work, or even when we are with friends.…

"Mother Tongue" written by Amy Tan, the author reveals that there's bias in spoken and written language when communicating. The speaker herself says she uses different Englishes when speaking to her Chinese immigrant mother whose second language is under developed compared to hers. Ms. Tan alternates between different events that support a change in her own awareness involving forms of English, such as when speaking to a group about her herself, she notices herself saying, '"The intersection of memory upon imagination" and "There is an aspect of my fiction that relates to..."' while confessing that this is not her daily language when conversing with her mother or husband, that it’s a language of intimacy, which I believe is to be more vulnerable…

This is probably the part where you see someone put a cliché quote that inspires them, but I’m going to jump right into this. The value of failure is something you should learn in life, because failure can teach you a new mentality to do things, like working hard and trying to get better or quitting because someone can’t deal with failure.…

Everyday people strive for perfection, but the truth is that no one will ever achieve it. Within every task, challenge or achievement, failure is present. Most fear the possibility of failure because weaknesses are brought out and people feel vulnerable. On the other hand I witnessed a learning aspect from failure, and have a new understanding of it. Varsity football was where I faced a large amount of failure, but in turn learned many lessons.…

Another reason why this quote means so much to be is because of the experiences it has put me through. One time I was playing soccer and I was about to score a goal because the goalie dove at the ball and missed it, knowing I had an easy goal I slowed down, to this the goaly gave his best effort to make one last attempt to get the ball, and because I slowed down I didn’t score. Later that game I remembered this quote and with one minute left I scored the game winning goal, easily being the best moment of my short soccer…

Further, some of life's best lessons are learned from one's failures. I remember being ten years old when I experienced my first big competitive event on my jump rope team. I was with my sister and best friend and we had prepared for weeks for this event. In spite of perfect practices, we were humiliated by our poor performance and ran off the floor yelling at each other and crying. I never wanted to jump rope again! My parents chased after us to console us, but also to insist that we finish the competition. I felt like a failure, but in retrospect it was a good lesson in accepting disappointment. I was inspired to practice even more for the next competition, and eventually went on to win a world championship.…
