Herbert is the most responsible for his own death, which will be seen through several examples from the text. In the “Monkey’s Paw” Herbert is the most responsible for his own death, here are a few examples of how. “well, wish for two hundred pounds.” (page 36). This quote shows that Herbert is responsible for his own death because he told his dad to wish for the two hundred pounds. This also show that he is responsible because, after he wished for the two hundred pounds the paw moved. “Herbert sat alone in the darkness, gazing at the dying fire, and seeing faces in it.”
