Monkeys: A Fictional Narrative
“Thanks” said Murphy, taking the toothbrushes out of the blue cup and fills it with water. He quickly swallows the pill and hands the cup to Romeo.

“If you boys need anything I'm posted in the cafeteria until eight tonight.” She said closing the kit.

“Thanks Sarah for your help” Said Connor, laying down on the bunk. Sarah nods shoving the baggie in her pocket and leaves the cell. Murphy pulls a packet of cigarettes from his pocket, placing one in his mouth.

“the aspirin really helped. My headache went from a sharp pounding, to a dull thumping” said Romeo, poking at the gauze covered wound. Murphy lights the cigarette and tosses the pack on Connor's chest.

“You're lucky he didn't kill you. The f**k were you thinking running your mouth off

At the end of The Monkey and the Monk, the pilgrims acquire the scriptures and, thus, fulfill the task of their journey and please Bodhisattva. Yet, she points out that “within our order of Buddhism, nine times nine is the crucial means by which one returns to immortality. The sage monk has undergone eighty ordeals. Because one ordeal, therefore, is still lacking, the sacred number is not yet complete.”(Wu Cheng’en, 470) Even though the sage monk performed tasks that were supposed to lead to immortality, Bodhisattva suddenly says that his deeds were not sufficient unless the pilgrims performed one more ordeal for the perfect number of sufferings. The second most suspenseful story I believe is The Monkey’s Paw. I believe this suspense story deserves the second place title because this story, much like The Tell-Tale Heart, paired fear and horror with the suspense. In The Monkey’s Paw, the author uses the fear of being buried alive, which I think is another interesting way to create dread in your reader, this helps the suspense flow a little smoother, because now your reader is worried and just has to know what happens to the character. I love that this suspense story used classic suspense, the suspense was how you would expect suspense to be; the beginning was a dark and stormy night and the characters were living their normal lives until someone showed up knocking at the door. One of…

For my verbal-visual collage, I chose to read the book The Monkeyface Chronicles by Richard Scarsbrook. Richard is a Canadian author who attended Western University where he earned an Honours BA in history. He also attended U of Ottawa and received his Bachelor of Education. Richard published his book the Monkeyface Chronicles in 2010. I chose to read this book for my project because it was recommended by the library staff at NT. Also, the novel won the Ontario Library Association’s White Pine Award in 2011. The White Pine Award is an annual literature award that has awarded young adult novels since 2002. Other books like Little Brother by Cory Doctorow and Mostly Happy by Pam Bustin have also received White Pine Awards.…

Primates are some of the most interesting animals to watch and learn about whether it be in person at a zoo or seeing a film or documentary on wild ones in a natural environment. Part of this reason is due to the incredible amount of similarities found in between primates and humans. After observing two different primate species at a local zoo, I found out that by observing their behavior, we gain a small insight into human behaviors and their roots. Today I will discuss the different types of behavior I observed as well as the effects of being in captivity and how this helps us understand hunan behavior.…
