There are two main reason why this statement is not true, the first one being children have access to media in ways their parents may not know.

Children can access media in many ways, may it be from a cell phone, their computer, and if you take that away maybe a friend’s computer or phone. Overall, most children can and will find a way to rebel against their parents, and achieving access to something their parents wouldn’t want them having access to, is a win in their book. The second main reason why this statement isn’t true is that there is music all around us. At the mall, there is music playing over the speakers, at some restaurants there’s music playing in the background, certain stores have music playing over the speakers, and depending on the store, this music may be (censored) vulgar or explicit.
