Croft per.2 Independent Reading The genre of Mockingjay is fiction.The theme of Mockingjay is.The character I identified most with was Katniss because she stays sttrong through the book and she always puts her family and loved ones first. My favorite line in the book is “He looks down at his legs as if noticing his outfit for the first time. Then he whips off his hospital gown, leaving him in just his underwear. "Why? Do you find this" - he strikes a ridiculously provocative pose - "distracting?”I read this quote a million times and I laughed everytime I read it,this is by far my favorite quote. The theme of this book is trust and loyalty.This theme connects to the real world today for me, tohigh school. High school has many people sometimes you do not know who you can trust, but your real friends are always going to support you. The plot line of this story is non-linear beacause Katniss has a lot of flashbacks in the book. Katniss is a fighter but she also loves so many people that are in her life, she would give her kife for theirs.“Violent. Distrustful. Manipulative. Deadly.”This qoute displays that Katniss is tough but when she says this when talks about how wonderful and anmazing Peeta thinks she is but tells herself that is who she reallly is. Forshadowing ouccured in chapter one when Katniss can see the bomb dropping in chapter one.There were some unexpected twists in this book like how Peeta is brainwashed and Prim dies.I would recomend this to a friend. This story is one of the best stories told about betrayal, love, loss, and tradgedy I have ever
