Mission Statement and Comprehensive Life Plan 2

Mission Statement
My purpose in life is to serve God with honor, humility, and obedience. “ But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (JOSHUA 24:15) I will honor God by helping other in my field of Psychology with hard work and dedication to all my patients. I will serve God by making sure I put other people’s needs before mine and making sure to remain humble, as He has taught us. Serving God will be the ultimate highlight of my life. No duty of serving God is too small, as long as your serving God. I will share the gospel of Jesus with whom I come across with because the gospel is the power of God. (ROMANS 1:16) I will be ready to pick up my bags and go wherever God tells me because to serve God is what I want to do. I will serve Him on the way to work and after work. I will serve Him as I teach my children about the Almighty. “You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (DEUTERONOMY 6:7) I will serve God making sure my will is not my own but His as Jesus also did. “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” (JOHN 5:19) I will serve by comforting the poor in spirit, hungry, weeping, and the widows. “If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your brother, but you shall open your hand wide to him and willingly lend him

The Question of Purpose: As redeemed, set apart Christ followers are main responsibility is to bring honor and glory to Him. The Apostle Paul powerfully stated that “For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians 1:21). Everyone wants to have a purpose in life. Christians find their purpose in glorifying their Creator. This is accomplished by being a light to the fallen, sinful world; showing them the glory seen through the death and resurrection of our Lord (Matthew 27-28, Matthew 5:13-16). Glorifying God can be accomplished through a variety of actions such as worshipping, obedience, and prayer but the main purpose is found in Matthew 28: 18-20 in the passage known as the Great Commission. If we are not making disciples then we are glorifying God for others to see. Glorifying God goes beyond the intimate moments of prayer or worship but is an outward expression, sanctification, which allows the whole world to see something is different. “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven,” (Matthew…

I attended Ketchum High School in Ketchum, Oklahoma. My school’s mission statement was: “Educating all students in a safe, positive environment through rigorous standards to develop productive members of society. Through accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, data driven decisions, equity, high expectations, and integrity.” One example of my school’s athletic department supporting this statement is through accountability. My basketball coach would find out each of his players’ schedules and have a meeting every two weeks with their teachers. He would access their grades and their behavior throughout class, and would either congratulate you or punish you depending on the answer he was given. Another example of supporting this…

The Question of Meaning/Purpose- We as Christians believe that our purpose is to do the will of God. John 15:16(ESV Bible) we are appointed to go and bear fruit. In Matthew 28:19(ESV Bible) we are commanded to go and make disciples. Through-out the Bible, God has charged us with being the salt of the earth and light of the world, He has commanded us to go and compel them to come so that his house may be filled. As we can see our main purpose is to live a life that exemplifies Christ and leads others to Him.…

Having attended a Catholic High School, while not being Catholic has opened many doors for me. I got to experience another religion, while learning about its origins, beliefs, and contributions to the world. Growing up in a Sikh family, I had always been taught to respect human life, work hard, give back, and remember God; a lot of these same aspects were reiterated in school, engraining them in my everyday life. One of the main concepts I took away from my high school was the concept of education hearts and minds, which in my mind resonates highly with the mission of Pepperdine. The main aspect behind educating hearts and minds is that while education in the purest sense is very important, equally important is how we go…

I have many goals in my life that I wanted to fulfill; one of those goals is to have economic security. During these past 18 months that our country was submerged in recession, it pressed me to reflect on how important it is to have economic security. During that period of time, I was reflecting about which would be the best plan of action that can help me to reach my goals. I came to the conclusion that the only good plan was to go back to the University and to obtain a degree. I currently work in a company as a general manager, but that does not give me the security that I need to project my future. And this was the main reason, why I decide to enroll in DeVry University. Now that I’m an active student, I feel that I am constructing a bright future and that my goals are going to become a reality once I graduate. After graduation, my plan is to work for the government for few years, after that period of time; I’m planning to develop my own company that would be dedicated to accounting services for individuals, companies, and to offer financial advice.…

A common situation that has been reported on a regular basis within numerous health care facilities is the overall amount of communication that is taking place between nurses, doctors and patients. In some cases this lack of communication that is occurring among the staff can lead to errors and possibly death. While this is no doubt a tragedy, the reality that changing the culture of communication with in the hospital can be a formidable challenge that must be addressed to fix this ongoing problem that is occurring. This has lead to an increase in the number of medical malpractice lawsuits, where many plaintiffs have often said that they only way that they could find out the truth as to what happened to their relatives is to sue because the health care facility was not giving them the information that they asked for. Instead, opting not to communicate with the patient’s family because of the culture that exists with in the health care facility itself. This means that in order to address this growing concern the staff of the facility must at least agree that there is a problem and must then want to implement these changes to improve the overall amount of communication that is taking place among the staff as well as patients.…

I see myself progressing in my field as well as in my education. I find my education challenging and motivating. I can see many challenges ahead and therefore I am willing to invest my time learning all the skills and knowledge of my field towards professional advancement. I hoped to be offered in a management role in 5 years, looking to move on to greater things. I'm prepared to learned new things and contribute to the overall success of the organization in a number of ways.
