Midsouth Chamber Of Commerce Case Summary
While many firms have difficulties with their software providers, these predicaments are often preventable through proper IT planning and execution. The situation was certainly no different with the Midsouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC). With respect to the MSCC's information systems, each decision put the organization into an increasingly worse position that finally reached its apex as this case begins. The Vice President of Marketing at the Midsouth Chamber of Commerce (MSCC) Leon Lassiter has updated their systems but are having problems with their systems that they are not able to access the data in the computer system they just installed. The steps for a business continuity and disaster recovery planning is a six-cycle process (1) planning and budgeting, (2) plan initiation (3) risk and status overall (4) designing and updating plans, (5) testing and training on the design, and (6) maintenance (Cook, 2015).
