Middle school was an adventure of awkwardly dressing and thinking you are cooler than you actually are. I remember growing up hearing the horror stories of that age and how hard seventh grade was compared to everything we have ever faced before. Seventh grade was the glory year. I hated my science teacher with a passion due to her non caring attitude, but I loved my English teacher. The best part of the entire year, was lunch. B lunch was an experience never to be forgotten. I sat at the same table with Jane and Carolyn, as well as a few others. Our table just so happened to be the table directly in front of the table the football players sat at. On occasion, the football players would mess with us during lunch. They started with throwing

Yough Intermediate Middle School, a comical and controlled environment. Waking up everyday to come to school is a nuisance. It worth every second of the day because of the amazing teachers, students, and staff. The curricular activities are as creative as a Picasso painting. The adventures I have gone on in Yough has taken me through life even more. The adventures have been vigorous, inferior, and patchy.…

Sixth grade was a major transition. Eight classes, PE uniforms, more freedom - except recess - but who was I kidding, it was going to be great! I met so many new people, including this girl Rachel Carney. We became instant friends and started Confirmation at church together that fall. That’s when I met Maddie, Rachel’s twin sister. Despite my newfound friendships, I was sucked into petty middle…

It’s the first day of 8th grade and everything was normal, the bus ride was the same as the year's previous ride. High schoolers were yelling at the little kids to sit in the front of the bus and the elementary kids yelling at each other across the seats. The closer the bus got to school the colder I got. I was pulling my sweatshirt closer around me to try to get warmer but that wasn't working; It was like the cold was under my clothes seeping into my bones.…

Freshman year was exciting, because of finally being in the high school. Soon realizing that almost everyone thinks you are stupid and want nothing to do with you. Between that and being confused on where to go, what to do, and when to shut up, it was nerve wrecking to say the least. Thinking you are a stud and the coolest kids around does not really help with the upper classmen. Being able to participate in high school sports just makes the experience all the better and going to homecoming and formal was a blast. No worries besides school and what you were going to do that weekend with your friends. Being able to drive anywhere you pleased made you feel all the more free.…

“Take away my good name, take away my life” This is a quote that I’m sure everyone in this room can probably relate to. We all remember our high school days, we wanted everyone to know our name. We wanted popularity and our reputation meant the world to us. What we do and how we act reflects directly on our name. For Shea Simmons what happened to her name was not her fault. Shea spent countless hours practicing and working on Mock Trial, working towards getting the scholarship from the Metropolitan Bar Foundation. Everything seemed perfect and at the end of the finals-they had won! However, all that came crashing down a few days later. Because of one childish blog post, a coach with a thirst for winning, and a jealous teenager Shea’s dreams…

I was the kind of guy who always strove in order to get the highest grades but yet hadn’t decided what to do in the future. I wasn’t worried, I knew someday I would find something in what I was good at. I got to live with that thought for some time until I got to attend middle school, where I stopped worrying about my grades and managed only to pass the subjects. I spent most of my time sleeping due to the frustration of not knowing what to do in the future. Most of my middle school experience was tasteless. I hadn’t friends at all, and teachers used to discourage their students about their future. “You're not going to college, you’ll not be able to do it because you’re poor” used to say, Mrs. Vazquez, the math teacher who instead of giving her class, talked on how much his son had accomplished in college and how we would not be able to attend. That was about to change.…

To be honest middle school is super stressful. Sometimes you lose your mind and not even notice. I cause myself to malfunction just to chase down my homework. My favorite teacher would have to be Ms.Kerley because she teaches my favorite subject, reading!…

Ridgeview has presented itself to be stronger, more demanding, and far more open.
