Mid South Extrusion
Mid South Extrusion, Inc. was founded in September of 1986 by the Anderson Family of Monroe, LA, as a small manufacturer of HDPE (high density polyethylene) barrier films. In the beginning, MSE started in a 17,000 square foot with four employees and only one film line. MSE is now a privately held S-corporation with about 120 team members working in a 200,000 square foot site that encompasses manufacturing, warehousing, and office areas. In addition to the HDPE films they have created since their start; MSE now offers LDPE and LLDPE films. These films are used in agriculture, polyurethane foam manufacturing and fabrication, and construction and pipe wrap applications. They also now produce products for packaging. In the category of packaging, films are used in furniture, bedding, carpet, beverage, canning, medical, textiles, and polyurethane foam compression applications.
MSE has a separate warehouse that was created large enough—60,000 square feet, to be exact— to house all of their floor stock programs. MSE is not the only one reaping the benefits of their large warehouse. With so much space available in warehousing, MSE can help customers manage inventory and also, help them keep up with delivery cycles. After doing some research, I found that film rolls at MSE average upwards of about 100 pounds but they can reach maximum weights of 500 pounds. With all of that processing, warehousing, and special preparation that goes into the film rolls, you would think that transportation might get a bit out of hand.
Once again, MSE accepted the challenge and organized the delivery process with the goal of making it as stress-free as possible for their buyers. MSE has a great record of on-time deliveries. This is in no small part due to their delivery team that includes eleven trucks and fifteen trailers. MSE’s delivery team provides delivery services to 80% of their buyers all over the continental US. When ordering with MSE, they have a lead time of 1-4

Calyx & Corolla has pioneered the use of express shipping to deliver a highly perishable and fragile product. Through effective marketing and high level of service (both to the customer and with the product), the company has positioned itself as an affordable alternative to the traditional wire service (FTD) and local flower shop. However, the competition is well entrenched, as are the habits of the traditional consumer, who do not necessarily equate ordering flowers with the traditional dry goods /clothing catalog channel.…
