Michelangelo's Creation Of Adam
Art is the expression of human creative skill and imagination. It includes the paintings and sculptures. Moreover, all the artists have their own expressions and styles that they want to show it to the world. The art works are based on the aesthetic principles. Some of the art works are very famous in the worldwide. Michelangelo's Creation of Adam is one of the most popular masterpieces.
Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni is the most famous artist of the Italian Renaissance. He was born in 1475 and died in 1564. He was the painter, architect, poet, and sculptor. Michelangelo has been done a lot of the art works, but if I need to choose only one of them, then I'll choose the Creation of Adam. The Creation of Adam is using a fresco as the technique. Fresco is the method of painting on the wet plaster from a wall or ceiling with watercolor pigments. Fresco is derived from the Italian affresco; it means fresh. The Creation of Adam is the part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling, which is formed from 1508 to 1512. It illustrates the Book of Genesis, which God breathes life into the first man Adam. The image of the near-touching hands of God and Adam has become iconic of humanity ( The Creation of Adam 5). …show more content…
His works influenced to the European culture by supporting the humanist movement. There are two different concepts to describe the cultures, one is apollonian the other is dionysian. The Apollonian is based on reason and logical thinking. In contrast, the Dionysian is based on emotion. Therefore, " The Creation of Adam," is closer to the Dionysian. The Creation of Adam is more about the humanities that contained the literature, history, art, music, and philosophy.
