1. Explain the role of each of the five components of Mintzberg’s “logo” (write your explanations using your own words –don’t simply copy the descriptions verbatim from the text or other source).
a. strategic apex
b. technostructure
c. support staff
d. middle line
e. operating core
Mintzberg came up with the theory of the five basic parts of organization, which includes the operating core, the strategic apex, the middle line, the technostructure, and the support staff. Mintzberg divided organizations into two different groups. At the very top, was the hierarchy, which forms the strategic apex. Those that are below the strategic apex make up the middle line. To the left of them is the technostructure. To the other side, lies the support staff. Each part of the organization has a responsibility, as follows:
The strategic apex – Here lies the chief officer or top-level managers. Also included are secretaries and assistants.
The technostructure – the analysts and supporting clerical staff serve the organization by affecting the work of others. They are only effective when analytical techniques are needed to improve work performance.
The support staff – provide support to the organization outside of the operating work flow and they can be found at various levels of the organization
The middle line – this is considered the operating core that performs numerous tasks in the flow of direct supervision.
The operating core – performs the basic work related directly to the production of products. They secure the inputs of productivity, transform inputs into outputs, distribute the outputs, and provide direct support to the input.

A business should not disclose medical information unless it is necessary for the company to succeed. If an individual has a highly-infectious disease in their system, it might be important for a company to share this information with another if that person is planning to work with others in one way or another. The lawsuits that may follow with hiring an individual that will make others ill as well would not be worth it. This would create ethical dilemmas because the company might need the information but the employee may not consent to disclosing it.…

Centralization sums up my primary reason for implementing Active Directory. The Active Directory structure makes it possible for you to achieve truly centralized management of users, regardless of how big your client’s network has become. If you've worked with Windows NT before, you know that in Windows NT a domain is a completely independent entity. While it's possible to create a trust relationship between domains that exist on a common network, the domains are never truly integrated with each other because there is no higher authority that manages the domains.…
