As the metabolism slows down in the 40s, it's important for women to follow a healthy and rightly balanced diet pattern. The challenges that are being faced by women in their midlife regarding nutrition and overall health are unwanted weight gain, the loss of lean body mass, bone health concerns and other health issues that may occur during the years leading to menopause and beyond. Committing to a healthy, nutritious and rightly balanced diet ,designed specifically for you must take into account your medical status, your caloric requirements and your specific nutrient needs which will help you look and feel your best and get the most out of life .

Although some chronic disease risk factors such as (family history, age or sex) are not able to be modified and so cannot be incorporated into prevention strategies, these factors can help to identify people or groups at high risk of developing a disease, enabling a targeted approach. The modifiable risks factors are common to all chronic disease which includes diet, weight, exercise, alcohol intake and smoking. It is important to understand that adopting healthy lifestyle behaviors will reduce the risk of all chronic diseases, including arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions. Regular exercise aids in the prevention of musculoskeletal conditions, and it helps to alleviate and reduce joint pain and stiffness and build strong muscle around the joints. Secondary hypertension is caused by kidney disease, severe narrowing of the aorta, tumors in the adrenal gland, or hardening of the arteries. There are many factors associated with high blood pressure, including smoking, age, race, a high-salt diet, excessive alcohol consumption, stress, use of birth control pills, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle.<br><br><b>what age is at risk?</b><br>If you are a man from 35 to 50, you are in a high-risk zone for hypertension, this is especially true if hypertension also runs in your family. It is less likely for women to have high-blood pressure, but the risk increases after menopause.<br><br><b>Symptoms</b><br>There are usually no symptoms for hypertension. Cholesterol: Cholesterol is an essential fat present in the diet and produced by the body. It is an important component and precursor to steroid hormones, including cortisol, epinephrine, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. It is also useful in the synthesis of Vitamin D. Cholesterol is a sticky substance that can collect on the insides of arteries when in excess. Over time, this buildup can contribute to the hardening and narrowing of the arteries, reducing the flow of blood to the vital organs, brain and the heart itself. If the heart’s blood supply is cut off, the result is a heart attack, or myocardial infarction. For this reason, high serum cholesterol is a primary factor contributing to the increased risk of heart attacks.2 Both diet and genetics are important factors affecting cholesterol levels. Other lifestyle factors such as exercise, smoking, weight management and coffee drinking all influence cholesterol levels.
