Statement of Jurisdiction

The petitioner hereby submits this memorandum in the matter of the suit filed in the Hon’ble District Court of Navi Mumbai, invoking the jurisdiction of this court under section 9 of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908.

Statement of Facts

I Raymond Shadykumar is a young NUJS graduate from Allahabad who turned down a career in law to pursue his current career in acting and Ablonde Bundar is a prominent socialite who works for People Involved in Promoting Others Ltd. (PIPO),one of India’s foremost publicity management agencies. PIPO has a strict internal policy instructing their executives to stay away from print media. PIPO charges 35% for established actors and novice actors are charged 10% and this rate is widely accepted as the market standard. II At a contest in which Ms. Bundar was judging and Mr. Shadykumar participating in, Ms. Bundar and Mr. Shadykumar started a relationship. Ms. Bundar promised to help Mr. Shadykumar hone his talents and make a career in Bollywood which Mr. Shadykumar accepted. He soon got a lot of offers, especially in family movies in which he was quite popular. Dizzney, an internationally famous company was rumored to be trying to sign him. III Chocolate Alexander, CEO of PIPO asked Ms. Bundar to talk to Mr. Shadykumar about signing a contract with PIPO making PIPO his personal management agency and promised her a promotion if she managed to do so. IV Ms. Bundar suggested that PIPO was an older and a better established firm than his current one and after weighing both options and after considering Ms. Bundar’s advice he signed for PIPO on 2nd January 2011 and soon he was cast in 3 mega-budget family movies which earned him a fortune....
