The meaning of childhood has changed over time. In today's society, the meaning of childhood can be quite contradictory. Although childhood may be seen as a time of positivity, growth and innocence, when we really examine childhood we see that it goes deeper than this. For example, childhood is seen as a time of positivity but, there are many occurrences within families and society, such as poverty, which can cause an individual's childhood to be a negative
