Mbti Classification
My MBTI type is ISTP. In my opinion, my MBTI type fits me pretty well with exceptions to the P in ISTP. The I in ISTP stands for Introversion. In my own words this means that I keep to myself. I think I am more of an introverted individual when I'm around a large group of people compared to when I'm in small groups. For example, in the EDPS class I'm usually more quiet and keep to myself; however, when we get into our small groups I'm less overwhelmed and more willing to contribute to conversations. The S stands for Sensing meaning I look at the facts instead of theoretical ideas. An instance, for some people, God is 100% real. For me, I don't really believe in a specific religion because several of the "facts" said about religions are not …show more content…
However, one of the descriptions for a high Neuroticism score means being creative. I would consider myself an artist because I enjoy creating art and crafts on my free time. Another reason I see why I have a high score in this category is because I tend to worry more than I should about things going on in my life, such as school. For Extraversion I got a 22 which is relativity low. I understand why I had a low Extraversion score because I am more introverted than extroverted. I gain energy when I relax on my own. For Openness, I had a low score of 25. My score means that I am not very open to new ideas or more practical. I think this is true because I knowing how to perform and finish tasks. It stresses me out when I'm not capable of finishing a task or cannot understand a certain concept in math. For Agreeableness I scored in the upper low range. I'm surprised by my low score in Agreeableness because I tend compromise to situations. However, when the situation is extremely unreasonable, I will not easily agree to it. And lastly, for Conscientiousness I got an average score of 32. Conscientiousness means how focused I am on my goals. I think my average score is not reasonable because I always make sure my responsibilities or goals are done before the

In his Huffington Post article, “Goodbye to MBTI, The Fad That Won’t Die,” author Adam Grant discusses his personal experience with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, in addition to providing information about its perception by members of the scientific community. Grant notes the popularity of the psychological assessment, mentioning that millions of people take it every year, and that the MBTI is becoming an increasingly widespread method through which companies learn more about their employees. He gives a fairly accurate description of the test and its uses, initially providing just a simple list of the four personality categories, but later giving more information about how each trait pair is defined.…

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-assessment developed by Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers based on Carl Jung personality theory (Capraro & Capraro, Aug 2002). The purpose of MBTI is to measure ones personality preference as a way of determining individuals best fit for environment and career (Furnham & Stringfield, 1993). It uses a scale of four pairs of opposites: Extroverts/Introverts (EI), Sensing/Intuition (SN), Thinking/Feeling (TF), and Judging/Perceiving (JP) to describe the preferred attitudes or orientations of individuals (Michael, 2003). This assessment proposes that the four pairs of opposite produce 16 qualitative types of descriptors (McCrae & Costa, 1989).…

My Myers-Briggs Type Indicator profile is Introverted iNtuitive Feeling Perceiving or INFP. In a professional setting I am usually a catalyst and focus more on the growth of people rather than the growth of the organization. My optimistic outlook, ability to genuinely empathize, and proficiency in adapting to various communication styles makes me highly affable and influential in the spread of ideas. I am also able to translate technical, hard to understand information into layman’s terms (Blumenthal, 1991; Butt, n.a.-c; Butt, n.a.-d)In an academic setting I learn best when I receive or am able to find an in depth explanation regarding the subject and any questions pertaining to it. According to the assessment, I scored high in extraversion and low in neuroticism, which is in line with the way I traditionally feel about life and work in general. I am usually of relatively happy demeanor and attitude and attempt to exude that feelings to others in an attempt to bring peace and cooperation into the workplace. This is not to say that I can’t get frustrated or disappointed with the situation and “lose it” a bit. But that is not my traditional modus…

On the Myers Briggs Type indicator, I am categorized as ESFG which stands for Extroversion, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. I agree with most of my assessment. I am warm, sympathetic and helpful. I do disagree with the judging. I know that in my past I was very judgmental. Being judgmental was a character flaw that I have worked very hard to correct. In the Strong Interest Inventory my highest themes were Social, Realistic, and Artistic (SRA) I agree with most of the assessment as well. The inventory stated I enjoyed teamwork, people, and community service I feel I excel in these areas. I do agree with the realistic score because I do love the outdoors but working with machinery and computer networks is not my forte. In the Artistic theme I…

My personality type is INTJ. I am 78% introvert, 25% intuitive, 12% thinking, and 56% judging, (www.humanmetrics.com, 2011). I found the test to be accurate and agreed with the results. Introverts are perfectionists that have a high level of confidence. Most introverts are logical thinkers that open their minds to all possibilities. “INTJs are ideal people. They think anything is possible and everything is negotiable, (www.humanmetrics.com, 2011). I possess this introvert quality. I believe that there are always exceptions to rules.…

After taking the Myer’s Briggs assessment, I learned I have a personality type ISFP(Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving), and the second closest type ESFP (Extraverted, Sensing, feeling, Perceiving). I took this assessment several years ago and my type was INTP(introverted, intuitive, thinking, perceiving), so I am a little suspicious that either I have changed, or the test isn’t that accurate. IN some respects I am an ISFP, and I agree that extroversion and introverison are two sides to my personality. The description on the website (myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-personality-type/mbti-basics/the-16-mbti-types.asp#ISFP) fits me perfectly, such as being quite and friendly, like having my own space, and prefer to work within my own time frame. I also dislike conflict and disagreements, but INTP also reflects my personality because most of the time I am interested more in solitude than social interaction. I am also very skeptical , critical, and try to analyze everthing. ESFP also describes me because I am friendly, but I am not outgoing, and I have a hard time being flexible. I do love life, and I am for the most part very accepting of people, but I do not adapt…

The personality traits that were examined were openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neurosis. Based off the scores of the personality traits, a life satisfaction score was given out of 100 points. The national average for males can be used as a baseline. By looking at figure 1, one can see that my individual life satisfaction score is 6.5 points higher than the national male average and 10.75 points higher than the class average for males. This could be because of my significantly higher conscientiousness score, which was 3 points higher than both averages, and my below average neurosis score, which was approximately 3 points lower than both averages. A high conscientiousness score can come from people who have a strong mental state of being. A conscientiousness person is someone who takes the time to analysis a situation before just jumping into it. Also, scoring low in neurosis is an important factor in having a high life satisfaction score. Neurosis comes from having a low mental state; it causes stress, fear, jealousy, and loneliness. Experiencing these negative emotions can cloud a person’s mind and inhibit them from finding flow. If a person is unable to find their flow and is brought down from negative emotions, it can be difficult for that person to be happy. As for the rest of the traits, the numbers do not vary greater than 2 points away from the baseline and it is difficult to draw…
