Martin Luther King Jr.: Civil Rights Activist
Martin Luther King Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who left a legacy behind with numerous of speeches, dedication to equality, and a determination to unite our citizens. In Atlanta Georgia, 1929, Michael King Sr. and Alberta Williams King gave birth to a legend Michael “Martin” Luther King Jr. On January 15. Born after Willie and before Alfred, Martin was active within his surroundings which included following in his father's footsteps and becoming a church going young man (Biography.com 1).
Martin began to have strong educational and spiritual growth. He earned his first sociology degree at Morehouse college. He was accepted into a lot of great colleges including Yale and Edinburgh in Scotland. Dr. King also went to liberal Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester Pennsylvania. He did his best in everything he put his mind to do. He also cared about his studies. He graduated at the top of his class. Martin was also Valedictorian and student body president in 1951. Benjamin E. Mays inspired King in many ways such as his spiritual growth (Biography.com 2).
It is often said that, “Nonviolent” direct action seeks to create such as crisis and fosters such a tension that a community. Which has constantly refused to negotiate is forced to confront the issue.” Martin Luther King Jr. …show more content…
we are now together as a whole. King was an excellent leader. He is a man that will never be forgotten. He’s has been remembered by all the great things he have done for african americans. Because of all the hard work determination and loyalty to the Black African American community. King actually sacrificed a lot of things for African American he stood up for what he believed in and everyone gladly appreciate him. He will forever be remembered he honestly made history. He is known to be the first black african american to be taught about in schools especially public
